After seeing a remarkably well, repainted Horrorclix Great Cthulhu here, I'm addicted.
Unfortunately, it seems the cheapest I can find him is $50, and even then I'd have to pay $15 for shipping that giant thing. Personally, I'm not sure about spending $65 on what essentially is a giant hunk of plastic....but he's just so COOL!
So I'm curious from anyone here who owns it - was he worth the price? If not, can someone suggest a suitable alternative?

Yes. Oh yes, and yes. I used mine in a superhero RPG game, and it was soooo worth it to pop him on the table when the only person who knew I had him was my wife - and she had not told. I ahven't repainted him, but he is beautiful.

I've got it and he is awesome. He's been driving minis mad ever since his purchase and still going strong. He is a bit small for my scale but if you play 15mm or 6mm he is probably just the right size. ;)
What I want to get is that horribly expensive Dagon toy.

Get the mini, all the cools kids have him,

The Dagon toy and the accompanying Cthulhu were on sale in Forbidden Planet last year for £6.99 each so I bought one of each :D

I paid over $100 for mine, (in pounds that is). Worth every penny. Better than Galactus, Fin Fang Foom and Spectre, although it's bloody close. 8)

I really like the heroclix 'thulhu but not such a fan of the base...don't like that he is stepping out of the ocean. Still a wonderfully huge beast to flatten little lead men with!

Did you but it? I was distinctly unimpressed when I just saw photos of the figure, but on the recommendation of someone I trust I bought one and absolutely love it, money well spent. Not brave enough to repaint it, happy as is.

I've always wanted to airbrush one of the big beasties.

Is that you, Pinky? ;)

Wonderful piece, one of the best miniatures I've ever bought.

It's on sale for $37.50!

Is it missing the back foot? Or just striding out of the water? The picture link to the sale doesn't show it from the side angle.

He's stepping out of the water.

I got a really good, up-close look at one, and I found it really nice, though I prefer my miniatures 'complete'. While looking on ebay, I found the RAFM Great Cthulhu for the same price, with less shipping, and bouth that instead. Maybe I'll get one later.....
