Title: SAGA 2016 - Vikings
Post by: Dr. Moebius on January 12, 2016, 04:38:32 PM
Hello folks,

I painted some Foundry Bondi for my planned Viking warband. I decided to paint the shields and not to use decals. Point 1 is ready. Next one on the paint desk.

Hope you like them.

Nice looking unit! Especially the shields, if only I had that steady of a hand for work like that...
And judging by their rich and colourful garb, they look like they've had a few successful raids already  ;)

These are great. I also like to paint my shields by hand (with various results).

Very nice, I rarely use shield transfers on my own stuff. It's actually quicker and more satisfying, although you cannot get the same depth of details as featured on the more intricate LBM transfers.

As the others have said, great Vikings! Really crisp style and the shields are particularly effective.

Well,

its this one:
http://www.dixon-minis.com/shop/vikings-28mm/VKV3/ (http://www.dixon-minis.com/shop/vikings-28mm/VKV3/)

A nice little vignette from Dixon miniatures. Though I did not like the head and changed it with a Foundry Vikings head from my bitzbox. Looks far better now and fits more into my raiding party.

I also use Dixon shields as they are a little bit bigger than the normal size from other manufactors. A really nice pack:

Hope that helps.
