I know there's plenty of nice Opel Blitz models out there from wargame manufacturers, but they're all damned pricey! $40 or more. Anyone know any cheap models?

Warlord does one for £21 which is about $29 dollars (http://store.warlordgames.com/products/opel-blitz-open-canopy/ or http://store.warlordgames.com/products/opel-blitz-closed-canopy/)
Rubicon does one for £18.00 in plastic (http://theplasticsoldiercompany.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1138)

I just picked up the Rubicon one on impulse - CDN $40. You're not likely to get a better price, but it was a nice little model to build.
AGNM in Toronto has one for CDN $30:

Sadly, £21 is about $42 CAD at the moment.
Looks like ebob has a nice one for £17.50, shipped though, so that's certainly an option. If I can find a cheapie die-cast toy that can stand in for one, I'd rather take that option (it doesn't have to be an actual Blitz, just something similar an in the right scale). There's a Lledo Mack Truck that's actually surprisingly close in appearance, but I think it might be too small.
EDIT: Hm, $30 and local is even cheaper. I wonder if they allow local pick up? If they do, that would beat ebob. Of course the ebob kit is nicer and he has a promotional 1:48th infantryman that looks great...

Italeri 1/48 Opels are rather cheap, around 13 GBP.

Old Glory no good to you? $26 US, even better if you have/know someone with an Old Glory Army membership.

ebob £14.00

Yes, the ebob one is currently the most tempting, though if a local shop has the Italieri one, it might be a good bit cheaper. I'll have to check it out.

Stuart Binning's AnyScale models has just done a Kickstarter which includes 1/56 Opel Blitz and numerous variants (ambulance, tracked, fuel tanker, flak etc) at £13 a time. Simple resin models. I haven't seen them in the flesh yet, but must be worth a look on the basis of his other things.

Certainly the best value 8)

I have both the Perry and Warlord one and am interested in getting the Rubicon plastic.
Quality wise I'd say, on this very very rare occasion the Warlord one has the edge over the Perry... detail is more distinct, and it is slightly better cast.
But both will cost you a bit to get shipped.
