That is paper?! Wow!
ncie work!
-
Where did you get the textures?
-
Wow - they look amazing!
-
That is not paper! You are lying!!
Why on earth am I going through all sorts of trouble when I could have this?
(Because I don't have a printer)
Really nice!!
-
Very smart, using paper terrain with foamcore cores. Adding the snow really brings the whole thing together.
-
and some of these are $.95 ( 60p ) if you havent got a printer you can always get them done at the local print shop :)
they do look pretty good.

Those look like dave graffam models. I downloaded a few of those and they are superb. Most have different textures so you can print t off the exact same building and change the textures and have 2 different buildings. I'd not considered using foam board though.
I found that printing them on heavy paper and gluing them was ok, but they did not store too well and often became warped and bent. I'll try the foam board method for sure.
What glue did you use? I found that pva was useless as it warped the paper. I started using prit stick which was better but not perfect.
-
Sorry guys, I screwed up the link, it is there though :)
RPGnow is the web site just search for paper ruins,
Roger
-
yes they are dave graffam models and very good too. I bought a ton in the sale. For 10 pounds you can cover a table and not reapt the building. IF you have any skill with photo shop they be come very modable :)
As for the glue I started with a tin of spray mount but after that run out use a good old glue stick which works just as well.

what size foam core are you using for these? Your table looks amazing
-
Really nice, so impressed with how they turned out.
-
I really like the way these turn out. I think the best part is how durable they are.

Looks great!
-
Very nice work! :o
-
Wow, which set did you order for that setup? That looks great

If I were to hazard a guess, the terrain was probably made from the standard, 1/4" (or thereabout) thickness. Probably the type you would find at a Michael's or Hobby Lobby.
-
In what order do you glue/cut the pieces?
I would imagine that you glued one paper sheet to the foamcore before cutting, but did you find it better to glue the rear sheet on before or after cutting?
-
Thanks!
The stuff I put together is on standard foam core, just like at Hobby Lobby. 5mm?
The models are from Davesgames.net It directs you to wargamevault/rpgnow.
I add the second side after I have cut the piece out.
-
Many of Daves models are great. He has a few free samples available too, see - http://www.davesgames.net/
Also available now are some new sci-fi battle maps.

Hello all,

Up until now I haven't had the balls to add snow to mine. After seeing how well yours turned out, I may have to give it a test run. What's the recipe, if I may ask?

These just different ruin buildings you picked up? I was hoping it was one of the sets they have to buy all at once.
-
You can buy them as a bundle, under $20.

The snow is 4GROUND Snow Static Grass. Glued on with PVA , still trying out ways to seal it.
-
the formcore is just standard stuff bought from the local art store.
I rough cut the parts glue that to the formcore then cut the part out. Then I glue the other side on and trim the paper down.
-
Those look excellent. i have used some of these just build with card, and altered so they fold flat for transport, but yous look much sturdier and more like buildings
-
Did you have to modify the print sizes at all to account for the extra width of the foam core?
-
Those paper ruins look awesome! Apply them to foamcore really makes them pop.. they look almost like 4ground stuff :)
I'd be making paper ruins if I hadn't already started on all the other stone grey terrain I've built already.
-
OK so that works really well and looks fantastic. Nicely done.
