here is some of the Celtic children etc from warlord games. excellent figures and very characterful, painted with drybrushing mostly. (also a very generic set for so cheap)

Very kewl...

For some reason or another, I long to populate my games with civilians running about doing various sundry things such as hiding, blocking line of sight, and generally adding a bit of chaos.

I'd like to have some dogs running around my town.  Where is the one you have from?  I like the pose of the figure you sculpted, very natural.

Your figure is well done, I like the pose.

The civillians are a nice set too

dodnt worry about big pics I long to do those myself , but they end up a bit blocky, possibly the resolution on my camera.

the figures are from warlord games.

brilliant website to, very nicely laid out by none other than the "fat bloke" himself if im not mistaken.

as for the pose i realized i have only one kneeling figure in my collection and he is 32mm so he only just gets away with it because he is kneeling.
warlord games does another set with dogs in,

there nice sculpts in have seen them in person, but there is only two varieties.

The figure you sculpted yourself isn't great (although it's better than I've been able to do).  HOWEVER, I think you're relatively young, and I think that's only, like, your second sculpt, so I'm impressed.  Keep practicing and I wouldn't be surprised if you end up being the next generation's Paul Hicks.  We'll be watching your progress.
