Title: Setting up campaign Battles ..
Post by: LawnRanger on 10 February 2016, 05:50:14 PM
Brothers what do you Do?

At the moment i am playing  2 campaigns one WWII North Africa (just started) and the other AWI.
How do you set up the battlefield when you are gaming .

With the AWI game its very relaxed the defender will set up then the attacker will pick the side he wants to come and thats it in nut shell.

or do you pick terrain then roll to see where it goes ect..

Would like to hear what you do in a campaign for your battlefield..

Happy gaming LR

I think there are some safe ways to do it.

Set up the table first - without knowledge of the scenario (unless it requires a certain piece, like a bridge) and do not assign deployment zones.  Basically create a table for the table's sake.  Then, determine scenario and randomly determine deployment areas.  This would represent two forces fighting over unknown ground with little time to prepare or scout the area.

I decide everything and the other players just have to accept the set up. (But I always strive to give myself a small disadvantage, not to be accused of being unfair).
