Title: Project Z Survivors
Post by: Suetonius Paullinus on 10 February 2016, 08:28:29 PM
I decided to give the Warlord Project Z a go rather than backing the Mantic KS. Mostly because I don't fancy the single part soft plastic (even if it's grey) figures although I really do like the IP and will certainly try the rules once released later this year..

In any case I started a survivor group which I can use for both:

(http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m146/CiaphasCain_album/Apocalypse%20Survivors/CC1E726E-1462-4D78-BD14-ECCED7DB8025_zpsr8k9biwq.jpg) (http://s103.photobucket.com/user/CiaphasCain_album/media/Apocalypse%20Survivors/CC1E726E-1462-4D78-BD14-ECCED7DB8025_zpsr8k9biwq.jpg.html)

Once the other sets of figures have been released the conversion possibilities will be absolutely awesome..

Can't wait to get into this properly 8)

Cheers

Those look better than the Mantic figures for those characters.

A lot better.

Fantastic work!

I prefer these to the mantic offerings. How difficult were these to make?

Absolutely fantastic.

@carlos13th, I am pretty sure they are all standard bits from the WGF/Warlord male and female survivors kit. As such they should be very easy to build.

The only 'conversions' I did were the hat and pistol for Carl (female survivors) and Michonne's katana (WGF's samurai warriors).
So yes, extremely easy and I think WGF had TWD in mind when designing this range of figures. I certainly wouldn't be surprised if one of the bikers would make a really good Daryl impression  ;)

In any case..you gotta love multipart hard plastics!

Waiting for my order to arrive next week. The only downside to having to wait for something to get over the pond.

Great stuff there!

Interesting painting style, very suiting for the miniatures. I'll have to take a closer look on those WGF survivors.

How well do these figures size up to Hasslefree minis?

Thanks guys!

Finished another army dude:

I've got no HF minis to compare them with but they are pretty standard height for 28mm albeit somewhat slimmer, less 'heroic'.

many things interchange well with Survivors from the BA sprues. I kidnapped many items like holsters and knives from the sprues.

How would the survivors work with the woodland Indians? I'd quite like to make some tribals with modern weapons.

@Dentatus
Good fun, there some vids on YouTube. Have a look  8)

@Halforc
I haven't thought of converting my Woodland Indian into Apocalypse Survivors but why not..there are plenty of extra weapons so kit bashing should be easy peasy. And of course they are compatible size and proportion wise.
