Title: Steam tanks and walkers
Post by: Blofeld on 13 February 2016, 11:10:01 PM
Hi there
Just got hold of a cheap Dust Tactics Bulldog Walker equipped with six artillery guns as shown in the picture below. I was wondering if anyone had any advice as to what I should run it as?

Thanks for any help

It needs considerable steampunkification for a start. Brass, rivets, smoke stack, water tank, coal tender etc  :D

What Craig said. I think it's very doable. I might replace the guns with something more victorian. Maybe Gatling guns?

Given the specific thread, I think he's asking more for guidance 'in game.'

I personally have difficulties putting large, monster vehicles in play. I think you have to have something similar opposing, or vast quantities of 'mosquitoes', and don't know how to model.

Though, have to agree, a real project to 'unmodern', definite possibilities.

Rulrs-wise, I'd probably start with the stats for a Baba Yaga (from SDRS) and trade up the weapons. In terms of the general look of the model, a lot could be fixed with a repaint. The HMG on the pintle mount would have to go though, and you need to swap out the gunner/commander for someone more Victorian.

Make them screw guns with a loader crew on the back deck and add a boiler/chimney.
More iron and brass.
