I am going to Brighton, UK this weekend and wonder if anyone can point me in the direction of useful shops for a miniature wargamer?
I am also somewhat of a scavenger and like to rummage through second hand toys and the like.
Thank you in advance!

You could have a wander around the Lanes:

There is also a nice militaria shop in the Lanes which usually has some antiquw firearms to look at in the window:

They had a lovely riot back in '64. You could do the nostalgia tour of that.

There used to be a fantastic little gaming shop, just down the hill from the station. Probably long gone now I expect! :'(

Just play this as you go

There are no model shops left in the town anymore. There are a couple of online businesses you can 'collect' from in person but not as a drop in.
Depending on your interest, there is plenty of gorgeous architecture about the place, the Booth Museum, Brighton Pavilion, etc, etc.
Now if it's food and drink you're after, I can direct you with much enthusiasm! :D

Thank you guys! I welcome all advice, including food and drink, Damas. I am specially fond of pubs!
-
Hmm....all these are walking distance from the train station.
Pubs:
Ye Olde King and Queen, BN1 1UB
The Mash Tun, BN1 1UE
William IV, BN1 1UJ
The Office, BN1 4EN
Bath Arms, BN1 1HB
The Cricketers, BN1 1ND
The Pump House, BN1 1HH
I have personally been blotto in all of these more than once. ;D Also, Brighton has the highest ratio of pubs/bars per capita in the UK.
It is impossible to visit all of them in a year as some close down and others open quicker than you can get round to them. :D
Food:
Aside from the pubs above
Riddle & Finns, BN1 1HB, best fish restaurant
Donatello, BN1 1HJ, good italian food in large portions
E-Kagen noodle bar, above Yum Yum Supermarket, BN1 4EN, best japanese food ever!
There are a thousand more independant cafe/restaurants as well as all the usual chain places. If you are going hungry in Brighton, you're doing it wrong!
Have fun and take some paracetemol and antacid with you.

Thank you for all the advice! I can't wait to eat (and drink) myself through Brighton!

I did the Bath Arms. Lovely!
Apart from the drinking, I must recommend one place for all people here on Lead Adventure. That is the Brighton toy and model museum. Great installations. Both me and my two year old son loved it!

I'm glad my drunken stumblings had some success. :D I had completely forgotten about the Toy Museum :o o_o
Also, If you are ever back over here, give me a PM and I'm sure we can arrange a meet up and such.
-
I will do!
Can also recommend the nice Stamp Store on Queen St. They have a lot of diecast models if you are into that. (My soviet ww2 truck fleet is now greatly expanded with Lledo £2 trucks)

The American Diner and Choccywokkydoodah!!!
