Yes, I've watched both series so far Colin  :)
The first series was a bit slow to get going. I thought the second season was better. I can't take Jamie Bell too seriously as an actor - he always seems a bit lightweight to me. Maybe it's the fact that I can't disassociate him from his child star turn in Billy Elliot. Burn Gorman on the other hand is bloody brilliant. Now he is versatile actor. The baddies are rather panto like, although you have to warm to the portrayal of Robert Rogers as a kind of mad dog. The battle scenes are a bit sparsely populated at times - here come the dragoons, all six of them... But it does give a fairly convincing sense of the brother against brother paranoia of what was, after all, more or less a civil war.
On balance, I'd say it is pretty good, especially once it gets into its stride in the second series.
There are one or two pretty silly moments from a historical perspective, but overall, not bad at all.

Yeah I watched them and thought they were a decent watch. Season 3 starts at the end of April.

Simcoe is easy to hate but did like Rogers. Anna Strong was good to watch as well  :-* :-* :-*

I've watched both series now, and really liked it. It also really made me interested in the whole AWI thing, so yay!

I am surprised it hadn't been mentioned on here before. I thought it would be a good source of inspiration for AWI players

Maybe his ( JB )  "lightweight" makes him perfect for his role in Turn. I think hes doing a good job. I only saw season 1 so far. And in these first episodes he convinced me.
Gorman is also great. Liked him in The Man In The High Castle !

Yes. He pops up in lots of things. He had a small role in Game of Thrones. He can play good guys or bad guys - always with utter conviction. Great actor.

Jamie Bell, less so I feel. But I do agree with you Bjorn, he works pretty well in this particular part.

The Continental dragoon uniform is rather snazzy. Its just a pity you only ever get to see a handful of them. A squadron or regiment would have been nice  :)

Which reminds me that i started drawing the flag for the Second Continental Light Dragoons. I need to get it finished as it's really nice.

So now all you need is some suitable figures for dismounted dragoons

Watched season1 and enjoyed it. A better series with historical theme than a lot of productions in the past. Only thing I always feel a little bit stressed is these american storytelling of only black and white. The good american boy and the so bad british officer (in some parts I expected the hessian nazis). The rest was ok. Help me to paint some AWI-Figures (Sorry Björn, I am too slow in the moment to make a game)

I was worried about that at first, too, but as the show progresses I think it gets better. Some characters are pretty unquestionably good (Tallmadge) or evil (Simcoe), but some British officers end up being enjoyable to watch, and even pretty sympathetic, while some Americans (although almost invariably potential or eventual turncoats...) become pretty unlikable.

Even the main character has questionable motives or methods at times.

I'm afraid to say that I started watching Episode 1 (pilot?) and switched it off. I know it was a case of building up the characters but I found it very slow.

I'm not referring to the lack of 'action', rather that the character building was too measured for me.

Cheers,
Darrell.

Kings Mountain miniatures do dismounted dragoons.

I guessing the Eureka stuff would go very well with the Perry stuff size wise?

They usually do :)

I hope so for second season, I hope for it at the end of this year.

Kings Mt does Dismounted dragoons, in action poses, with separate heads so that you can make different units.
