Hi folks
I've recently returned to the hobby after two decades out - over half of my life! - and decided to restart with some FIW 28mm skirmish wargaming, which I've always had an urge to try. I've been building my forces over the past couple of months or so but haven't had the guts to put paint to miniature properly yet. Instead I've been focusing on my terrain. I've got fences, trees, some scratch-built cabins and various other things on the go. But after seeing some of the fantastic cornfields on this forum utilising the JTT cornstalks, I just had to have a go myself. So here's my attempt, which includes 42 removable sections to allow miniatures to be placed inside the field. The sections are held in place by magnetic tape, which seems to be working rather well. I've got to look at the base material again, as I'm not happy with this, but you get the gist.
cheers

Very nice.

Looking good. It looks nice and dense. How about some grass and growies around the outside of the base? They should finish it nicely?
-
Good idea to use the magnetic tape. Lovely model.

That has come out really well.

Which reminds me that I am supposed to be doing something similar but with cows instead of corn.
The cows are done, just the paddock that needs doing now.
Hmmmm.....

Very nice job, and gives another alternative system to those on here:

Couldn't have done a better job. Want one just like it now. :)

Thanks for the comments folks! Have finally had a chance to look at this again and have updated the basing a bit. Will add some flowers when I can track some down.
Now for a wheatfield using a similar system of removable pieces and a pumpkin patch...

Looks great. ;D

Certainly does :)

That looks pretty good.

Loving how dense they are :)

Thanks FoW. I really wanted a dense look, which is why I went for removable sections (42 of them!). It is expensive though! I really wanted several fields but don't think I can justify the spend!

Do it, treat yourself! ;) lol

Really nice bit of terrain, basing looks great now as well (I thought it looked alright before if I'm honest, looks even better now!)
I bet it is expensive, I'd say it's worth it!

Excellent corn fields.
Just ordered 5 packs myself.
The trick will to get them based,
still have not decided how I want to do it.
Decisions, decisions.
(I say, laughing at myself.)

Maybe just one more... ;)

Great cornfields! those removable bits are definitely the way to go, much easier to place figures.

That is amazing well done.
I do admit having looked at those corn stalks once or twice and thinking they look good .. but yours are next level..
Also done in "The Grand Manner"..it looks great , going to do some myself.

Great stuff the dense look makes it so much more realistic
