Old love never dies as the adage goes...

I'm trying to paint up a force of Eighth Army to engage my friends Italian stallions.
I've tried to keep the painting ultra simple. No highlights, no nuttin'. I have a tendency to overcomplicate my painting normally, I think.
This aims to achieve two things: get stuff finished AND make it distinguishable at 1.5 m distance. :)

Works for me. They look lovely.

Very nice! What rules system are they based for?

Most likely it will be Iron Cross or I Ain't Been Shot, Mum! 3
I used to game IASBM intensively but towards the end the amount of cards in the game seemed to be prohibitive of fun.
So I'm going to investigate if the new edition has changed that.

They look good, the black lining gives plenty of depth to the paint job.
Are they based on 2ps?
Chain of Command might be worth a look too - a bit smaller scale than IABSM, with a platoon plus a few supports as the typical game size.

More additions to the Eighth:

A couple of MMG's. You can't go wrong with those...

And a pair of Humbers.
Now I would really have liked to add a few markings or some such to the humbers, but I have really not been able to figure out what or where... any help would be much appreciated. I'm not doing a historical unit per se, but rather a generic 'plausible' unit.

I added a platoon of Indians to my force. Not very accurate in any way, but good fun to break up the monotony.

I have slowly started on the DAK too.

Any pics of the DAK yet?

I think perhaps we shall see some today. :-)
I'm starting to think of terrain also. I want some hill features and a few palm trees. It looks good eben though it was really just flat desert.
I guess adobes are mandatory as well. I considered buying the Hovels ltd. Ones but on second thought I'd rather build some to save the money.

I'm continuing my 15 mm efforts here. The first of my DAK are now done. I painted three Plastic Soldier company Pz III... various outfit (FGH)

Of course I cannot not show the image as this is a German forum and German are concerned about being too casual with swastikas. So you will have to do with this modified image.

Looking good. What's "FGH"?
