Title: Exeter Legionary 2016.... Is today!
Post by: Streetline on March 02, 2016, 12:23:09 PM
Exeter Legionary is held this year on April 30th. Legionary has been run by the Exmouth Imperials for six years now, and we hope to make the show even bigger and the most varied wargames event in the area. We have a good number of wargames traders selling historical, fantasy and sci fi figures, rules and terrain; several demonstration or participation games (and room for more!) an x-wing tournament run by Kirton Games, and the usual huge and busy bring and buy. So if you want to buy, sell, play or just look at wargames on April 30th 2016 there’s no better place in England. Entry to the show itself is £4.

Exmouth Imperial Wargames Society is a wargames club that has been running for over 15 years in Exmouth, East Devon. We meet every Wednesday night in the function room of Liverton Copse Social Club. We play a wide range of games – historical, fantasy and science fiction – and all scales. We’d welcome more players so if you’re in the area, feel free to pop in.

I will indeed be attending, alas I won't be using the bring and buy as I think 20% is a bit extreme :(

It's still 10% unless I missed a meeting!

What a nice contrast after Salute! Actually, there's one similarity to Salute in that traders can drive up to their stands for loading and unloading- such a wonderful bonus for an old git like me  :) but there the similarities end. Obviously, more money is taken at Salute but Legionary is a much more pleasant experience. It's relaxed, you can get to see the games. There's daylight and a decent caff with reasonable prices. Today, I'm just as knackered as I was after Salute but yesterday was the more pleasant experience.

A good show - well done to all those involved.
