I played a game of Combat Patrol, the new set of WWII skirmish rules from Buck Surdu, at my local club. The report is on my blog, Wargaming from an Armchair. We have played these a couple of times now, and really enjoy them. To answer questions, yes its a miniatures game. Yes, it uses cards to resolve amost all situations in the game. It works very well, and I would suggest watching Buck Surdu's posts on the subject on Youtube. It gives a very good overview of how to play. Actually, with reading the intro rules and watching the videos, you would be able to play very quickly.

Great write up on your Blog, and a great game.
I've been playing a lot of Combat Patrol recently, both for WW2 Normandy games and 1980 Cold War encounters using Buck's new 'Winter of Discontent' free supplement.
Cards sets, printed Rulebook and all the downloads are also available from Sally 4th.
