Title: 1/56 APC Victorian Science Fiction Style!
Post by: Captain Darling on 08 March 2016, 08:33:17 AM
Hi All!

Well it’s finally ready for action the VSF APC better known by the British Imperial High Command as the Armoured Steam Traction Engine and Battle Wagon Mk I Combination. These two vehicles came about as I painted up some VSF Engineers and as often occurs one thing led to another and everything spiralled out of control and the next minute I’m building a tractor and its accompanying trailer! Anyway here it is the VSF APC I hope you like it!

More pictures and period blurb are on the blog...

Very nice! I'd recommend stuffing (available at material shops) for smoke. Stick a bit of wire through it (and down the pipe of the smoke stack) and spray paint with black if desired. Makes good smoke and keeps together better than cotton wool :) Unless you are alredy using stuffing (wasn't sure from the pic)-in which case ignore this comment. Anyway-great work :)

Excellent - love the mobile mortar - able to fire on the move, or is that just silly?

Keep your creations coming.  :-*

Hi All!

Thanks for the comments!

The mortar can only be fired when stationary, the idea is fire it at your objective and then charge it and over run it all hopefully while it's still stunned by the mortar shell striking it  :) the mortar can only be reloaded from outside the vehicle and in my FUBAR VSF skirmish games I doubt that will ever occur as it would take to long to set up the crane prepare the powder and shot and load it up...

Rich H do you mean set up some 'legs' that can be extended to stabilise the trailer while firing?

Glad to see this may give others some ideas for their own projects!

Great modelling there, sir! Even thouggh I tend to avoid such large scales, this got me motivated to get into some 15mm VSF.

Really has that VSF ironclad vibe.  Wonderful.
