Title: How to do an indian fur/skin drying frame
Post by: nervisfr on 11 March 2016, 09:46:51 AM
Any indian village need some item like this one.....  ;)

At first, let's bring together the materials :

A pair of scissors, Super Glue, wire, a cutter, drawing pin
and barbecue sticks and a small towel semi-long fiber.

The wooden frame is fixed with wire.
Each attachment point is drown with Superglue to be sure that nothing moves.
The frame is then glue into the mdf base.

Cut a piece of the towel into a  shape of animal skin.
At each end, make a hole with the pin and slide a piece of wire in and twist to stretch the skin on the supports.

The skin frame is finished !
Just need some paint to be field in my next scenario for Song of Drums and Tomahawks.

Me too.
This has sat around in this state with the space for a rack and equipment for almost two years and I just never got to it....

i 'm
very please you like it !

it takes me 15 minutes to built  ;D

i forget to tell that, at the end of the process i wash a glue-varnish (or white glue) on the towel to stiffen it before painting.
It's become hard and very strong in drying !  :P

Wonderful!  I am stealing this, as while I do not do much gaming in that era, I can see this being used by a Victorian adventurer, or in a post-apocalyptic world...

I like yours better than mine, Eric! I'll have to see if I can find a picture of mine. I never did a tutorial on them, it appears. I should have used thread like you did -- I tried to use thin leather string. It ended up being too thick, though.

Nice job! I'd make up a few to scatter around your village...
