The mighty Viking warlord Ubbe has set his mind on becomming king. But kingdoms are not made they are carved out with a sword. And what better swords to use than the Ulfberth swords? Therefore Ubbe has set sail to Frankia to find the legendary swordsmiths forge and get him to make weapons for the comming raiding season.
However Ubbe has not been carefull enough as he aproaches the village of Ulfberth. The alarm has been raised and Ulfberth is already gathering his men to fight off Ubbe.

Some of the village warriors prepare to make a stand on the bridge to give the rest of Ulfberths forces time to gather.

Ubbe sensing victory within his grasp challenges Hakon the village chief to single combat.

But is brutally cut down.

A great melee erupts in the village square.
(http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t75/Fredejensen/674064C5-C462-409E-8520-F5323EA05E82_zps99upnhlw.jpg) (http://s157.photobucket.com/user/Fredejensen/media/674064C5-C462-409E-8520-F5323EA05E82_zps99upnhlw.jpg.html)

The village warriors taunt the berserkers into throwing themselves against their shieldwall. Where they are cut down.
(http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t75/Fredejensen/C08C73F2-EB9C-4E74-A283-903C8CAA1085_zpskojkqx2v.jpg) (http://s157.photobucket.com/user/Fredejensen/media/C08C73F2-EB9C-4E74-A283-903C8CAA1085_zpskojkqx2v.jpg.html)

This really ends the battle after this there is only the mobbing up of a few surviving attackers.

This was supposed to be a three player scenario, but Dr. The Viking crapped out... So this was really a last moment attempt to change the three player scenario into a two player one For Erik and myself. We actually played this scenario through two times with some tweaking the second time round. The report is based on the second game. It still need a bit of tweaking to be really good I think. But it was fun none the less.

Thank you all. I certainly enjoyed myself. We played using Lions Rampant rules. The attackers had to capture Ulfberth. When they reached the river the village would start to get a unit off reinforcements from the table edge every turn the defenders held the bridge.

Great stuff with some sweet eye-candy to boot!

The Royal beer obviously does not work too well, though.

I was waiting for someone to point that out. But what is the point of gaming if you can't drink beer while doing it?

Also we had waffles with ice cream and coffee.

A steady flow of strong coffee is a defining part of our Sunday afternoon sessions.

Tweaking yes. Ubbe was hard pressed tp get his hands on the precious swords. Good game though and thanks Again fore airbrushing my ship.

Next time I write the scenario!
