my first LPL 10 entry "On the market". A bit of a wild mixed bunch of Arabian and Indian citizens, manufactured by Perry brothers and Eureka. 23 newly painted figures, I don't think I ever managed to paint so much for an LPL entry, although the miniatures were very easy to paint and I didn't care much about freehands (unfortunately..) but you know, that's the point, what are you going to do with the miniatures and how many time are you ready to spend on painting them. I wanted a lot of people on the picture, hence I had to give any fancy clothings and go for a more easier version. Anyway, here we go, a lot of pictures..

The minis are a nice collection and really well painted but set together in the market place with the backdrop of the buildings they look fantastic.
-
Beautiful paint, lovely display! :-*
-
Fantastic, Alex. As you know I am a big fan of quite busy scenes myself, but this one is so alive and vibrant it makes me green with envy.
-
The exotic lady on the dromedary, is she a conversion?
-
Beautiful :) The Seljuq Emir looks pleased!
-
Wonderful stuff. prpoer LAF eye candy. :-*

No, Peder, it's Queen Zenobia of Palmyra (by A&A miniatures). She's been part of one of my entries to LPL8:

Stunning work, Alex.
For favourite entry for the first round.
:-* :-*
As an entry for a single round in the LPL they are simply amazing.
So much work.
:o
(In fact, you have painted more miniatures for a single round than I normally manage in several months.
And to a much higher standard. Such smooth brushwork. I think that I now have to hate you as well. >:D ;)).

Please don't hate me, Paul lol I don't think I'm going to paint so much figures for a round again :D

Fantastic!! :-* :-*

What a wonderful lot of figures joined together by the market theme. Very effective; there is so much going on in there.
-
If I buy you the wool, will you make me one in 10mm? ;)
-
Every picture tells a story, intriguing posing of the figures, very well handled. All the figures have been sympatheticly painted and the backgrounds , giving the appearance of alleyways , almost cinematic in its concept. Outstanding .
-
Just love this scene Prof! The camel, the crouching children and the one sack leaking grain really do it for me. Little touches take an already great project that next step up! :-* :-* :-*

:-* :-* :-* Wow !....really beautiful....the smooth brushwork is absolutely superb and the way the whole scene works will keep me looking at it for many weeks to come

Ok, then.
If you promise....

Me thinks I'll be ordering the Indian Civilians set ASAP!!
Darrell.
-
And I still need some of their Middle East stuff. Maybe for the next LPL season :)
-
Wonderful entry! That is just like from an Arabian nights story book!
-
Absolutly brilliant... :o
Love the scenes and all the little stories they tell....
Cheers,
Don
-
Fabulous. I love it that a viking traveller has made it all that way too :)
-
This is one of the best scene I saw on these forums :o
And there are many absolute killer projects on LAF..
-

They are excellent. Funnily enough, though I'm familiar with Eureka I've never really looked at their civilians range as closely as I might have o_o ???
Darrell.

amazing :o

Thanks, gentlemen :-*
Fabulous. I love it that a viking traveller has made it all that way too :)
Viking traveller? Did I miss something? :)
-
Lovelly work. :-* :-*
Viking traveller - on the 6th picture the guy on the left pulling the horses.
He looks like one. :)
-
He does look like a Norse traveler at that.

just back from the ninth round of LPL , finally something historical again! The 1st Crusade. For this one I’ve painted three of Perry packs from their beautiful 1st Crusade range. Some connection to one of my previous LPL entries at the beginnign of this thread can probably be seen.
I sincerely hope that I’ll find some time and motivation to stay on that fascinating topic for a while and continue this project in the next months or years. There are still lots of beautiful miniatures to paint in the mentioned Perry’s range.

Beautiful brushwork as usual, Alex.
:-* :-*
Some great figure choices in there as well.
It does seem that the Perry's are the men to go to for miniatures of an ecclesiastical persuasion.

I am loving your LPL entries this year, and I just hope that it does not cause any burnout with such a high number of figures in each round.
:D

Cheers, Paul :-*

Burnout? I'd say currently there is no indication of it happening in the near future o_o

A beautiful entry - such characterful minis and outstanding brushwork. :-*

Beautiful work Alex in all your entries. The Queen and Pilgrims scenes are my favourite.
Thank you for sharing.

Thanks, Helen! Thanks, lads!

I'm actually usually avoiding the Perry figures because of them being on the small side with all the tiny details but this time I could stop myself from trying to paint a larger group of them and fortunately and wasn't that bad :) These ones are particularly less detailed. Now I really hope to continue on this topic!
Still not sure about Perry's NWF Brits..Very tempting but all these little details..

Stunning Alex!
