Jeff and Ben at Fortress Figures have a new line of sci-troopers now Kickstarting! I've been painting some early casts and am super impressed by how cleanly designed and how well sculpted and cast they are. Check them out here:

They are very nice :)
-
They look nice, I mediately nicknamed them space pigs in my head, what with the snout. But they seem pretty pricey? 70 dollar to have 8 metal minis shipped to me isn't that great.
-
Metal figs, generic Sci Fi, Bobby Jackson, fulfillment this year, known company, reasonable goals and pledge levels... Pledged.
-
Hmmm.
Shipping for those in europe seems a bit excessive, but if they get up in their higher stretch goals, this could be a pretty nice group of figs at a fair price.
I've got oodles of sci-fi troopers so I won't be buying in, but they do look good.

If I was not changing from 25+mm to 18MM- size i would truly be tempted. 8)
Let me know if you ever do them in a smaller size. o_o Or, maybe, given pending retirement income I should retract that last statement... :o

That's quite a switch. I guess you're pretty much giving up on Sci-fi then? I have a hard time thinking of a scale that has less sci-fi options than 18/20mm.

I think that with 18- he means 18 and small,er so 15mm as well, which has loads of sci-fi.
-
Nice figures. Don't have a "oh, gotta have these!" pull for me. I also despise rotary guns on miniatures so that alone would unfortunately stop me from considering them. Look like nice, crisp sculpts though.

Oops, that makes alot more sense! 15mm is packed with sci-fi goodness. Is 18mm what 15mm things are creeping towards now?
-
scale creep. just like 25mm is now 28mm (or even bigger)
-
Very nice! TBH I'm trying to build up a small Heresy troopers force at the mo; but I think a few of these wouldn't look out of place as a special powered armour squad. I might throw a few quid at them anyway.
... though it depends how big they are. They seem like small-medium 28mms in the comparison? (Yup, fully aware of the daftness of that definition)
Captain Phabulous: lol Nice one. I bet this one won't be dumped in a trash compacter before she does anything.
But on a similar note, $15,000 stretch goal for female troopers? Ouch. Couldn't a couple have been included in the initial squad? Or are thry an inevitability regardless of whether the stretch goal's reached, this time?
-
Thanks for the heads-up on these. I love Bobby Jackson's classic style, and these will be perfect for something. Don't know what, but they're gonna perfect for it. Pledged.
-
Re scale creep. There's a comparison shot in the KS page. They didn't look out of place compared to the rest of the usual suspects in that line-up.

Correct, thanks for the "translation."

Yeah, no matter what size you collect for armies you have to deal with new figures being larger frequently than old figures (My fantasy is mostly from 1970s but I just say "Dwarf" or "Goblin" sizes vary more than humans...)

RBJ/Fortress have added some add-on options including this super-cool Infestor mini sculpted by Matt Beauchamp.

Funding has been reached! When they go up to $5000, they'll add two more minis to the core set.

Cool. I was wondering when Fortress Figures was going to release the Infestor sculpt I did for them ages ago. It looks great assem
bled and painted.

I received one of these troopers in my Adepticon Swag bag last week. I can attest that they are very well sculpted and nicely cast. If I didn't already have about 50 Sedition Wars Vanguard troopers I might buy a squad.
If you're on the fence, then maybe it's time to jump...
-
I got a pair of the STAR Troopers from Adepticon as well. (Actually, my wife got the second one which she gave it to me.) I even got them painted up. Here they are.

I hope it's OK to post my figures in someone else's thread. I just wanted to show these lovely figures off. So glad I jump on this Kickstarter.
-
Nice work there. Suitably worn and military. Looking forward to mine even more now.
-
They are nice. So much better than the KS paint jobs! :D
