So my friend and I have been playing games where we both play 2 warbands. It has actually been a lot of fun. We play 2 scenarios and play on a 4'x4' board. We end up rolling for each wizard for iniative and the wizard/apprentice phase follows that. Then the player with the highest roll moves all his soldiers first. We end up splitting all the loot and XP evenly between both warbands.
Just thought I would throw this idea out there and see if anyone has anything cool to add to it.

I was thinking along these lines too, hoping that 2v2 might play faster than a free-for-all with 4 players. Glad you're having fun with it. I'm hoping you get some replies from others who have tried 2v2.

Just played a 4 player free-for-all game and didn't see any problem with the speed of play. All novice players (with me as umpire) and we still played the game in a couple of hours.

These last two games have been just 2 of us playing 2 wizards each. But we did play a 4 player team game which was cool. We played the corners as the starting deployment area and made it so your team mate was across from you. That set up still kept it feeling like an individual game. It was fun.
Splitting the loot is cool. We would roll for everything and then split it up so you would be more likely to get something you need.
