Title: First Carlist War Scenarios Book
Post by: Kingscarbine on 18 March 2016, 10:58:21 PM
Hi,

I'm working on the 2nd edition of "All Honour Is Lost". This will be the last print of the book with two versions available. The original wire-bound and a limited edition paperback. There are some changes and additions with a couple of scenarios and maps added but no major changes to the text.

The files will be sent to the printer in April and the book will be available from Cayuse Print and/or from Caliver Books.

I would like to continue work on a second book, "His Moment of Destiny", but have no time at the moment.

More news soon.

Best regards,

Nuno

Hi folks,

Just a heads up. I've just sent the files to the printer and we are working on it. We hope to have the books available in a couple of weeks.

The 2d edition will have a couple more maps, it's more organized and I've cleaned the text a bit. Hope it's a better version.

If all goes well I may release a follow up next year dedicated to the Gómez Expedition, the war in Catalonia, Aragon and Valencia, and other battles and skirmishes involving the French Legion and the Portuguese Auxiliary Division.

More news soon.

Cheers,

KC

Nuno

I am very keen to get some Army Lists done for the First Carlist War for Sharp Practice.  Free to download stuff.  Do you fancy collaborating on that?

Hi Rich,

I wouldn't mind but know next to nothing about SP2. There are a couple of people already working on that and I've helped David Imrie with his list for the Partizan game. Don't want to step in anyone's toes.

Maybe I could work on some specific AL's like the Portuguese Auxiliary Division.

Great! Hope to see the lists available soon.

I'll work on the Portuguese Civil War lists then. The Perry's have some great new figures for converting but I'm working in Switzerland now and all my stuff is back home so I don't know when I'll get around to build the units.

I'll just have to order a pile of lead and work on it for the Xmas Special. :D

PS-If anyone has Portuguese Stovepive heads that they can spare I would be very grateful. I just need enough to convert Legitimist/Muiguelite Line Infantry like the ones bellow.

Maybe the Perry's might bring some out!

Hi Nuno, just wondering if you might consider some smaller actions your new book that could be used for Sharpe Practice or similar. Just a thought.

Just a heads up.

I've received an offer from a publisher to release AHiL in paperback so until we strike a deal release dates are incognito.

More news soonish.

No deal.

The book will be wirebound with acetate protection so you can have it open on the table and is 83 pgs long. It will be available in a couple of weeks but all depends of the printers schedule.

It's £20 plus postage. I'll contact everyone that pre-ordered with total cost soon.

Cheers,

Nuno

The book has been printed and pre-orders sent. Good feedback so far:

"Hi Nuno,

Book arrived this morning and it looks very, very good indeed. Congratulations.

Graham"

"Hello Nuno

It arrived this morning and very nice it is too. There is a definite change from the old one, better maps and I love the extra work on OOB's. Now I can give my old version to someone at the club to encourage them to get started.

Thanks again and congratulations on a great publication.

Cheers"

I've just received a very nice email from the USA with a good feedback on the book that I would like to share.

"Sir, I wanted to take a moment to let you know how much I appreciate your book, "All Honor is Lost". I have been pouring over it constantly, ever since I picked up my copy from Perry Miniatures last summer. I am working my way through the scenarios, using Black Powder as my rules of choice. I am REALLY looking forward to your next installment, "His Moment of Destiny". I can't wait to re-fight "Venta de Echavarri", "Second Arquijas" and especially "Arlaban". Thank you for all your hard work and dedication. You have really brought The First Carlist War to life for me and my son. Rex Blackwell Rex Painting Service Denver, Colorado, USA"
