Title: ECW 6mm gamers?
Post by: robh on March 20, 2016, 01:02:09 PM
Anyone here gaming the English Civil Wars in 6mm?

What rules are you using, any thoughts on which give a good period flavour?

Hi,
I play ECW in 6mm using ARMATI. Also first version of Father Tilly might work.
Otherwise you may try Renaissance principles of war, or the Thirty Years' War version
of GaPa. Last ruleset being worth a try is from Howard Whitehouse.
Have a look here, where you may find photos of vintage H&R figures:

Please forgive for text being written in incomprehensible italian.
cheers
Stefano

How do you work the formations in Armati? Group move the pike and shot elements?

Mine are all based as formations on 80x40mm bases as I have been using Impetus (and the Baroque beta rules) which work pretty well.
I have also just got hold of the Liber Militum Tercios rules to try out. Another big battle, formed unit per base set.

Used to, but that was ages ago.
