Hey all!
After long struggle I managed to finish another Necromunda squad - this time based on Copplestone's minis.
I can definitely recommend those models to every future wars fan - minis are simple but filled with nice and juice details so the painting doesn't get boring at any stage :D
Time to assemble Copplestone's peacekeepers force... 8)

Excellent, how about some close ups?
-
Damn cool!! yes, please, more close-ups!!!
-
Cheers guys :)
I'll try but the results so far were just lousy :(
Hope someone with better photo-skills will appear on the painting contest.
-
Looks fantastic! well done.
-
They look really nice and "necromindic"! :D
-
Bah, sure they are!
Mentally I am stuck in toxic outskirts of hive city, It's been like 10 years now...
;D
-
It is a wonderful phenomenon of Specialist Games - the're long dead, but still alive in our hearts and minds and on our gaming tables))
-
Well personally I don't think Necromunda is dead - players are still wreaking havok on each other fighting for scraps of clean water and food ;)
The other thing is GW f*&ked the job big time and stopped supporting spec. games. But I guess for them only big money counts...
In worst case the game is un-dead, you know, like zombies? Not breathing but still can bite or chase lol

Brilliant paintwork and display, those miniatures deserve such a fine display. I really love the detail packed into those figures, I found each painting session revealed additional details I had completely overlooked at the outset.
Cheers
Matt

Very nice. Love those minis. Really quality sculpts with a quality PJ

Yes! YES! My thoughts exactly!

Would REALLY like to see some close ups....go on, you know you want to give it another go.
:D

We still play it.
Who needs GW to keep it going?
;D
-
Yeah!!!
For Necromunda we actually don't need either GW or their minis... ;D
-
Lovely brushwork on excellent figures. Amongst Copplestones finest work I think. Given the sculpts must be 20 years old they still hold up against some of todays figures :-*
-
Well they have character - a contrary to most of placcy crap nowdays.
I also hope the judges will appreciate these oldschool souls during the coming contest... ;)
-
Demi, could you write a few words how you painted the ground/bases? Thanks!
-
No problem, it's actually as simple as possible:
1. layer of sand
2. diluted wash on whole sand area: I use vallejo burnt umber (that's the name iirc, delicate brown wash similar to devlan mud) but diluted smoke or brown will also do the trick, add some olive if you want base look bit more "fresh"
3. when dry (and I mean it - when it's totally dry) - aged bone drybrush (or any middle bone color)
4. delicate white drybrush
5. as option - you can sprinkle some chalk / pigment to make base look kinda dusty
6. matt varnish
Voila :)

Saw this on Frothers, and still loving it!
Beautiful painting and presentation.
It's amazing to me how well those figures hold up, even by today's standards. Just wonderful stuff.
-
Excellent work! I have those same figs, but they aren't painted nearly as well.
I've seen them painted so many different times, but they always bring a smile to my face.
-
Thanks again :D
I was asked for some close ups so here's the best I could get after night photo session:

Stay tuned - shortly Copplestone's savages (Goliaths in our Necromunda that is) will appear on the bloggy (http://demimorgana.blogspot.com/) ;)
-
Hopefully with GW reviving specialist games, Necromunda will get some love and new minis.
-
Great!
They look just as good close up.
:-* :-*

@KGatch113: with Copplestone's stuff I don't really care about potential new releases from GW ;)
Although new genestealers are more than cool I am planning to assemble ANOTHER gang based on those and oldie models.
-
Really great! Copplestone's Fture Warriors were among the best sculpts during their time, and they still look great - especially with such great painting!
