Title: Miko (Temple maiden)
Post by: Modhail on 23 March 2016, 12:42:05 PM
For an RPG I'm (re-)starting with friends, I needed a miniature of a Miko. Which are somewhat hard to come by, even in 28mm...
Luckily, in one of the Perry villager packs is a girl with a fan who would do, if only she were correctly attired. It just so happens I have the correct attire, cunningly disguised as a blob of greenstuff. ;) So, I inflicted sculpting upon the poor girl.
Here are the results:

Once she has recovered from this ordeal and has hardened herself, painting will happen.

Well, she's done:

(The camera seems to have washed out the shading and highlighting on the hakama a bit, oh well.)

As I was painting white anyway, I took care of the itinerant priest at the same time:

(As to why he is wearing a pawlownia chest of drawers on his back: the figure is for an RPG character that has sworn to never own more than he can carry with him. As a result he always carries that chest of possessions with him wherever he goes. It has nearly gotten him killed on several occasions... When one of the other players suggested he get a horse for it he replied "Do you have any idea how heavy those are?! I could never carry a horse!"  lol)

Thank you, guys! Glad you like em.  :)
The remaining characters for the RPG group will be a bit tougher, as I need a pair of fully armoured (traditional O-Yoroi) women, one with a nodachi, the other with naginata... The quest to find suitable figures continues. Oh, and a Tanuki.

Perhaps a little large in comparison to Perry models, but Pulp City has a Tanuki.  Its for a super hero game, but it has no modern paraphernalia on it.

One of the more fun female samurai type minis I've acquired is Tetsu Ko (http://store.bombshellminis.com/10009-tetsu-ko/) from Bombshell
