I'll getting around to painting some Gauls/Celts and wondered if anybody had found the best colours to use for achieving a realistic look on 28mm figures.

On the other hand, I tend to use reddish browns and rich red earth tones, with only the faintest bit of pure orange sometimes in highlights (and that's if I want them to be a true bright redhead and not just kind of gingery), for a more natural look.

Thanks for the link and the tips. Much appreciated.

Being a natural redhead myself, I like to use VMC Red Leather, highlighted with VMC Orange Brown, and washed with a midtone Brown or sepia wash. Tends to give a natural look with the right depth of color.
