Hi all,
We had a very fun afternoon at the Devon Wargames Group playing three different scenarios set in the French Indian Wars using the Donnybrook rules.

If you would like to see pictures from two of the scenarios together with thoughts on the rules in general, then check out the post on the DWG blog.

Fun looking games.
Am looking for rules.
So it is interesting to see what players had to say about all the different sets of rules.

Great stuff, I think the Donnybrook rules have potential for wider use :)

Thank you.
Lots of potential with Donnybrook especially for multiplayer large skirmish and for those who want plenty of scope to tailor the rules to a particular scenario.

Nice review, how does Donnybrook compare to Muskets and Tomahawks?

That is one of the best game reports for Donnybrook I've ever read! Great job.
I thought about buying the rules awhile back, but they never seem to be at the conventions when I have money burning a hole in my pocket... lol

Thanks for your comments chaps.
Landsknecht - Donnybrook is very similar in concept to M&T. I have now played both sets and think Donnybrook gives a more intuitive game in that we were barely referring to the rules and rattling through the turns a lot quicker than any M&T game I have played.
I like both sets and would happily play either, I think what particularly appeals with Donnybrook is that it gives you a well engineered basic set of black powder skirmish rules that leaves you plenty of scope to bolt on as much additional stuff that you care to.
A bit subjective, but I rather think most of us end up selecting the rules we like on that basis anyway.
