Title: Afghan warriors - Scale comparison between Ironclad and Studio Miniatures
Post by: nervisfr on 11 April 2016, 11:32:37 AM
hey guys,

For my Colonial Afghan Project,  i'm looking for a comparison scale between Ironclad Miniature  and Newline Design and/or Studio Miniatures (i own some of these two ranges). Or even with Foundry ones (i have some of them too)....

thank you for your help

Eric

Why not just order a few samples? Not the most economical of ways, I know, but that's what I do.

Also, you should consider Old Glory too!

that's what i do generaly but as it's not my principal project of the moment .
So many time LAF's members save me buying from bad sclupted ranges, i'm now used to ask before ordering samples.  ;)

I know the Old Glory but i have already painted some Studio Miniatures and Newline Design pathans... 8)

The Studio Miniature Afghans mix extremely well with the Iron Duke miniatures. Whilst most of these are intended for the Indian Mutiny the Afghan types are almost universal. The Perry Afghans are a little smaller but still 'mixable' and I'm a scale purist. The older Foundry Afghans again match very well.
I didn't  buy the Ironclad Pathans as they are armed with too modern rifles for my project but I do have some of the Darkest Africa range and again a very good match to all of the above.

I has Studio, Artizan and Foundry and they all mixed very well as long as you can live with the Artizan mini's being a little taller. Not too tall but noticeable.

Then I bought the Perry range and that was the end of that  :)
