Bloody marvellous Dags. Ive done most of the characters already, but I've got all the command and rank and file to paint. If they're half as good as yours, I'll be a happy man. Top work 8)

I've been looking at the Footsore site at these very figures this morning to see what I need to order next.

They might be pretty but they got their arses kicked first time out last night depping as Anglo-Saxons.... Losing 2 games and drawing the 3rd.

Just some hose archers and a couple of alternate Warlords to go :D
-
I'm still trying to figure out how I missed these.
Your non metallic's are spot on,
I bought some foot sore at York back in February and wasn't overly impressed.Your painting has me wondering if I wasn't overly hastie chucking them in the bits box.
Would it be greedy to ask for more images ?as I imagine most of us would love to see them on mass, just to get a better feel of your painting style.
Mark.
-
Very nice painting!
-
A couple more hearthguard...
(http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z174/Dagenhameast/DA16_zpsep48bz59.jpg) (http://s193.photobucket.com/user/Dagenhameast/media/DA16_zpsep48bz59.jpg.html)
An 'army' shot will happen as soon as the weather's decent enough - too many for the light box!
-
Great work 8) 8)
Lets hope for a break in the weather :D
cheers
James

Thank you,
Now this just gives a true sense of just how much efforts gone into the whole project .
Nothing but praise for them.
Mark.
-
Weather (paint drying on the brush!) and lurgy have slowed things down but here's the first 4 mounted archers....
(http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z174/Dagenhameast/DA25_zpsmlb65v1d.jpg) (http://s193.photobucket.com/user/Dagenhameast/media/DA25_zpsmlb65v1d.jpg.html)
...more when I'm back from hols
-
Brilliant work! And have a good holiday ;)
-
Horse archers finally finished....
(http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z174/Dagenhameast/DA1_zpsvkg4pojq.jpg) (http://s193.photobucket.com/user/Dagenhameast/media/DA1_zpsvkg4pojq.jpg.html)
Standard was a simple conversion of a spare archer... replaced the right hand with a sword one from the bits box. removed the bow from the left and drilled it out to take the pole, removed the 'quiver' and strap and, lastly, the sword handle from the scabbard.
-
Excellent! :-*
Good choice of colours; particularly nice that certain tones are reiterated on different pieces of equipment/clothing within the unit.
-
Very nice Dags 8)
I'm finally working on my Footsore Arthurian / Romano-Brits now... Quite a mountain to climb.
Horse archers in sub-Roman Britain always seem a wee bit improbable to me, but they look jolly good.
Cheers.
Richard
-
I'll be picking up a (French) copy of the new book at Crisis so will finally know what I can and can't use ( with the aid of google translate ;D) - what can't be used for either the Roman or Romano-Brits will get sold off....
-
Nice horse archers. :)
-
Very nice indeed.
-
Amazing work! :o
-
:o What a great project. Those minis are beautifully done!
