Back home from Salute I simply couldn't resist painting one up:
(http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m146/CiaphasCain_album/8F4EC061-8C8C-4058-8218-DFDF568850FE_zpsarkvnrhs.jpg) (http://s103.photobucket.com/user/CiaphasCain_album/media/8F4EC061-8C8C-4058-8218-DFDF568850FE_zpsarkvnrhs.jpg.html)
Bit sloppy as I'm totally knackered but hey..
Possibly the best Perry set yet.

So i suppose that you returned , after a full day at London-Salute, at your home..and spent firts hours of the night with brushes and acrylics?! :o
you're great !!!!....thanks for showing us your purchase
-
Sleep is greatly overrated anyway :D
-
Looks great, especially considering.
So does anyone know of the Perry's are going to do a plastic Afgan set for thee guys to fight? Also what about a Sikhs set for the bulk of any Indian troops?

See Captain Blood's post in the thread linked below :

Bengal and Bombay infantry are less glamourous than the Sikhs but they actually provided the bulk of the Indian troops. Michael Perry already did some metal Sikh and Bengal/Bombay sepoys for the Sudan range anyway :

Not sure a box of plastic sepoys would sell in sufficient quantities to justify the tooling costs.

Well done!

Thanks chaps!
The ammo pouches have to be black, of course!
T'was late yesterday..:

Lovely jubbly. I can see my poor old Essex colonial Brits visiting eBay quite soon... These are Perry-tastic and infinitely superior...
-
Very nice. Beautiful figures, paint job and nice bases. Great all around and fast, wow. At this rate you will have finished the three boxes by the end of the month ;)
Question about the flags in the set, which regiments are included. Cheers.

What headgear are they wearing, please?
-
Argonor,
They are wearing the khaki turban cover for Bengal & Bombay infantry. It dates to the early 1880s and was worn by non-Sikh Indian infantry serving in the Egyptian and early Sudan campaigns, but did not come into use until after the end of the Second Afghan War.
Seutonius Paulinus,
Your 66th look AMAZING, a simply outstanding paint job. After seeing them, I now also need to replace my previous 66th -- though they were other equally well-sculpted but less historically accurate Perry British Infantry.
-
Ah, OK, thanks!
-
That's a nice figure! I can find a use for them. Perhaps one of these days, circumstances being right, there will be plastic sepoys on the market, too.

Would the Perry WW2 Indian heads go well with these bodies?

Looks great, especially considering.

Nothing official. Afghans I can imagine, not so Sikhs..... not that I'm privvy :)

As linked out to by Arthur, above...
Had a quick chat with Michael at Salute today, and he said:
- Yes, they will definitely be doing HYW plastic mounted knights. Haven't started them yet, but on the cards in the not too distant future.
- Maybe to plastic Pathans. He said they'd be a lot of fun to do, but based on the Mahdist set, wasn't sure how well they'd sell. (I told him I was sure they would :D)
- Zulu War British colonial infantry in the works and coming quite soon.
- ACW Union infantry in dynamic poses. Underway, but no release date.
So I wouldn't set your hopes on it, but it may yet happen.
-

Depends on how picky you want to be. Some differences in the cut of the tunic but otherwise that could work nicely.

Hurrah! Easy Death in the Dark Continent reinforcements, here we come!

Great. Full of plucky Victorian character :-*
-
Suetonius Paullinus...
Those remain perhaps the best-painted Second Afghan War British infantry I've ever seen.
So dang good!
I have yet to buy my own set of 3 boxes of those Perry plastic Brits, but seeing these pics of yours reminds me it's something I MUST GET AROUND TO DOING...
-
Comes with the Colours of the 67th eh? Hmmmm yet another project about to grow out of all proportion to my original intention then! lol lol lol
