It looks like the new releases for the Orcs are around the corner. Here are some pictures of the new models.
Rider on Wyvern-squig, or perhaps just a Wyvern from Mississippi.

Then there is this guy. I guess he runs around and when the kids come out to meet the school bus he smashes them all down.

I really like the model. I think I'd probably do him in a rusted metal colour.
The new mega boar riders are the bees knees.

I might leave the top-knot thing off though because I think they would look more brutal that way.
This Shaman is pretty odd looking. I like him.

Definitely got the crazy orc shaman thing going on. I think I saw him in a photo from Burning Man.

Not sure about the one in the flood pants on the bottom right, the rest look right enough though.

I should not give a shit but these recent GW Warhammer releases disturb my aesthetic sensibilities.
-
They look like 40K feral orks saw mega-armour and tried to replicate it... Could make for a really cool body guard for a feral warlord actually....
But as 'bog standard' fantasy orcs? I will pass....

THAT is spot on.
There is something so 'wrong' to me about these new Sigmar releases.
How long before a mutant, spike covered He-man arrives on a fucked up version of Battle Cat-on-steroids to defeat the evil hordes of Nagash MacSkeletor?
Or maybe that has already happened.....
-
I know I'm in the minority but I quite like the Masters of the Universe vibe of AoS - it's an alternative to more classical fantasy, which plenty of other manufacturers do. Having said that, I'm not 100% on these, the yellow paint job was a terrible idea! The shaman is a fantastic mini though!

I am sorry , I should not have mentioned it. Lets break this off right here, alright, mate?

I agree. I am not buying because of the price tag, but the new GW warhammer look is kinda cool, and the new models are awesome sculpts. just too expensive for my tastes.
-
Certainly some imaginative sculpting going on, I could probably like these if it weren't for all those colours. :o
OP, you know you can post pictures in the thread, going off to imgur is a pain.

Yeah... I've not been a fan of... well... everything from Age of Sigmar so far (leaving aside that I would quite like to kitbash an automaton or something from one of the Stormcast Eternals). But these, I actually quite like, and I'm not entirely sure why. The yellow is hideous, but I quite like the rough, battered look of the armour, and even the ridiculous weapons don't annoy me like I would have expected.
I'm actually quite keen to see how the Orruk line continues beyond these initial releases. Hopefully we'll finally get goblins that look savage, rather than just goofy.
-
They look rather WarmaHordes-ish to me.
-
Well, that Wyvern-thingie is worth a second look in my book, since it's quite bulky and I like that in monsters. The rest doesn't do it for me, to put it mildly.
But as they are plastic kits and way above what I'm willing to spend on a miniature I'll pass anyway. :)
-
Like the Sigmarites they look more like 40k minis then Fantasy pieces.
I think that this is my problem with AoS figures, GW is trying too hard to reproduce their 40k Space Marine success in a fantasy background.
So far the Chaos pieces are OK (but that always was GW strength). the rest is weaker.
I am disappointed, they could have tried something new (like the Confrontation Orcs) but they are playing it safe...unfortunately since GW strength is when they got totally crazy (which is why their Chaos figs are the best so far).
-
That first one made me laugh. Way OTT, but in a fun way. I agree the prices have moved beyond expensive to ridiculous.
-
More like meganobz ;)
-
I actually thought this was a 40k release.
-
I do think a huge amount of these will end up as Meganobz...agreed.
-
I I still played 40K Then they definitely would be on my list.
