A couple of weeks ago, Lewis and I started using Buck Surdu's Combat Patrol ruleset together with the free 'Winter of Discontent' supplement to do some gaming set in the fictional, alternative time line world of 'The Winter of '79'

Buck's streamlined rulesystem with it's innovative and unique use of card based mechanisms to quickly resolve combat led to a fast paced and enjoyable game which saw me commanding 2 Pltn, A Coy, 10 Para against my sons Welsh Liberation Front (WLF) forces.

The game was played in 28mm scale and it was the first time that I got the excellent new Miniatures from Mike Bravo into action.

Just come across this review of Combat Patrol on Gavins Blog.
This time Combat Patrol has been adapted for Vietnam, just goes to show the versatility and strength of the core system.
