Can anyone help - does anyone know where I can get some decent Crimean British uniform/painting guides please

There are various sources out there, but one I can think of are the two Raider Games volumes that cover this very subject.  Called Crimean War basics, you can scroll down on this link to find them (along with a ton of other sources):
