With Partizan fast approaching, I've been busy adding to my Fort Vaux model. The show (May 22nd) will be very nearly the 100th anniversary of the siege of Fort Vaux by the Germans (June 2nd-7th 1916) so it seemed an appropriate subject for the first Partizan at its new venue.
The game is a participation game (4 days of tunnel combat in 40 minutes) using some quick rules driven by playing cards and dice. If you're at Partizan, please feel free stop by and say hi!
Here's a few shots of ongoing work on the model and figures - new casemates, arches being added, bits of interior detail and a bunk bed factory (thank goodness for Warbases!)

A stock of new models - Germans painted by the talented Scrivs, French by myself.

Speckled Jim!
Right, best brush up on my research and start growing an enormous droopy French mustache so I'm able to properly help out on the day.

Thanks everyone for the supportive posts! I was hoping to put some pics up today but have been just finishing it all off! This evening, I finally based Major Raynal, glued in the last oil lamps and put the finishing touches on the 75mm gun turret that I made last weekend in a fit of over enthusiasm!
Looking forward to the show, see some of you on Sunday. 🇫🇷

Thank you Aly and Mark! I'm not always fussed about prizes - there were plenty of fine games at the show - but this one means a lot.
-
:o Just seen this thread! Astonishing - I never thought it could be gamed.
-
The award was the least you deserve, given the amount of work that you've put in!
-
Looks like a great game.
Are the walls textured at all, or just printed? Looks great in the pictures. :)
-
Brilliant work absolutely fantastic looking terrain and figures. Can I ask what dimensions the bunk beds were need to make some myself and yours look great.
Cheers

Thank you for the kind comments! I wasn't sure it could be gamed either, but a lot of research and mucking around with concepts went into the final model.
To answer two questions:
The walls are textured card by a German model railway company called Vollmer. It's printed and embossed as well with the stone pattern, so saved me a huge amount of work. I just gave it a matt varnish spray and then added some streaks and stains.
The bunkbeds are made out of Warbases mdf bases. I just ordered a job lot of 20x30mm rectangles. The dimensions were really dictated by the size of the barracks rooms, but they do look about right. I assembled them all in one evening using a hot glue gun. Blankets were added from resin baggage castings, foil, green stuff etc. the pillows are single sandbags from the Renedra sprue.

Great thanks for the info. Again a superb piece of work and thoroughly deserving of its award.
Cheers

Apologies if I missed it but where did you get the brick pillars from?

The brickwork is an embossed brick foam product from Faller called Decorflex (it's actually N gauge stonework, I bought it with a possible view to building a 1/144 model of the fort as well). I cut it into pillars, scored in the side detail and painted it brick colour.
