Title: Anyone use Blue Moon's 15/18mm Gothic Horror miniatures?
Post by: Philhelm on 15 May 2016, 04:17:06 AM
I am considering playing Chaos in Carpathia using Blue Moons 15/18mm Gothic Horror miniatures.  I've searched at length, and have found only one site with painted examples of the miniatures.  I'd like to get a better look at them, and am wondering if anyone else uses them and has taken photos of them so that I can get a better idea of how they look.  I'm particularly interested in the Slayers set.

I don't have any but have seen them at US Conventions.  They are very nice, the buildings that go with, made by Old Glory, they are amazing.

That's good to hear, since there isn't much information out there.  The terrain you mentioned was also a draw, since I could easily create a decent Transylvanian village and some more complex terrain since the map would be zoomed out compared to 28mm.  I'm just wondering if 15mm will be too weird for me after exclusively playing in 28mm.  I suppose I could just order a few of them since they are cheap.

West Wind's 18mm Gothic Horror Line is so good that you will feel yourself pressed to try their top notch 28mm line as result!  :)

Chaos in Carpathia is a great game as well, and the cinematic setting will make you look for a more detailed perspective (28mm) - in this scale, not only the painting and conversion of the miniatures are more enjoyable to do, but I bet you will soon find great joy in making gothic terrain in this scale as well!  ;)

You're correct.  After a stretch of indecision, I eventually ordered some 28mm models after all.  I really liked the Westwind Brotherhood models, the loup garou, etc.  Also, the Hovels terrain shown off by Jet in Geektactica was a lot cheaper than Blue Moons 15mm terrain (even if it was probably better sculpted).  I might pick up Blue Moon's 15mm models one day, just to have them.

Also, if I had switched to centimeters for 15mm gaming, I would have had a 48cm playing area in order to keep scale.

Philhelm, nice decision!  :) Please keep us posted on your progress! Geektactica is as superb source of inspiration and ideas! Also check out the Chaos in Carpathia Yahoo Games Group as well!  ;)
