My friend convinced me to join him in an American Civil War project (15mm) with him choosing the side of the North and I the Southern rebels.
Our minis are based for both Regimental Fire & Fury and Longstreet (Our Longstreet "Grand Campaign" will begin next month.
In preparation, I've gotten the minimum 3 regiments of infantry, 1 of cavalry (Both mounted and dismounted) and a 3-gun battery of artillery painted up for our first game. I've also painted up a handful of generals and a divisional command stand for when we play Regimental Fire & Fury (Longstreet does not use them).
I've yet to receive my flags yet for these regiments and will post up a full army shot once they arrive.

Thanks! I have 3 more regiments to paint up, won't get to them any time soon though as I've a mass of 28mm WW2 Soviets to tackle first.

Better pics as promised. This is the full starting brigade for a Longstreet grand campaign that a friend and I will be starting on Father's Day weekend (US Father's Day at least) next month. Dependent on my fortunes during our battles and post game the composition of this force will change greatly I'm anticipating.
Each side begins the campaign with 3 infantry regiments of 10 bases, 1 cavalry regiment of 8 bases and a 3-gun battery of artillery.
This fictional brigade is lead by the young dashing General Jean-Claude Pedisclaux of Louisiana, who with his father's impressive fortune has managed to raise two full regiments of infantry (3rd & 4th Louisiana Rifles). They are joined by the 12th Florida Line infantry, 26th Florida Light Horse "Cromartie's Cutlasses", and a battery of cannons from the 12th Texas Artillery.
I plan to post some AAR's once we get our games in.

That has already happened, here: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=90310.0
I have yet to get any paint on the figures yet, though.
Just converted a few figures so far.
Hopefully the brushes will get an airing soon....

I will be taking on my own 15mm ACW army! These are a real inspiration! Good stuff!

Nice job, lovely looking unit.

These turned out great, very nice looking army.

These look great! Very inspiring.
I'll be keeping an eye open to read your campaign adventures. Longstreet's one of the rule sets I considered when I started my ACW project. I haven't completely ruled it out, either.
Keep up the good work!

Such nice brushwork on such small figures!

Many thanks to all that have commented and offered kind words! Have had some commissions to work through of late so time for painting on my own projects has been sparse to say the least of late.
With Father's Day being this Sunday, as part of the weekend being "Special" for me, my wife and son were cool with me buggering off tomorrow for a full day of ACW gaming with my mate Stew. So all these minis previewed here will finally get used on the tabletop.
Realised I had no reinforcements, so slapped some speedy paint on this lot and added some GMBDesign flags that recently arrived. Now I'm ready. I think.

That's a cracking army you have there, and as others have said the painting is impressive at that scale.
-
Lovely - looking ever so grand.
-
Many thanks once again gentlefolk.
Our Longstreet campaign started on Saturday the 18th! My opponent Stewart (Commander of the Northern force) hosted two games. We spent some time re-learning the rules to an extent, but otherwise, the games each ran splendidly.
The first AAR is posted at my blog here - http://lostdamnedstunted.blogspot.com/2016/06/longstreet-campaign-1861.html

*Apologies for not posting it here, it would take a flippin age to transfer all the post's contents over from blogger!*
I'll post a link for the AAR describing the 2nd game soon!
-
Very nicely painted.
I thought the top pics were 28mm and I had to go back to check the scale. ;)
-
Thanks a lot Melnibonean!
Not any more painting done due to real life rearing it's ugly head. But a 2nd game AAR has been written and posted on my blog and I am to play the 3rd game in our Longstreet campaign tomorrow evening and plan to do the AAR for that therafter.

Game 3 AAR posted up!

Will be mainly painting 28mm WW2 for a while now (As I have an extensive Winter Soviet force I'm slowly working through.), but there'll be some more 15mm Confederates in the future as my army has grown and more cavalry models are needed!
-
Troublemaker! Now you've inspired me to get going on my own 15 mm ACW again - and 96 short of 960 bases down, I'm ready to start rebasing the infantry and then move on from there. The short 96 bases are for the casualty figures, one for each regiment. Those are one to a base, everything else three to a base but each infantry regiment's command base is one mounted figure on a horse and one soldier on foot. See what you are responsible for?! Trouble maker. ::)

Lovelly little army. :-* :-*
Makes me want to do it in 15mm instead of 20mm. o_o
