I've been trying change my Avatar to one of a number of different Avatars I use on other forums, but I keep getting the message:
"The avatar you have selected is too large, or not an avatar."
I've tried to recreate these Avatars from their original pictures, and I've tried the website mentioned in previous threads: http://www.shrinkpictures.com/create-avatar/resize.php but that doesn't work either.
I've made sure they are no bigger than 80 x 80 and under the maximum size but still no joy.
Is the Avatar function not working, or am I doing something wrong?

You would get a better response in the proper section.
The Frostgrave section isn't best for it. The "about forum" section perhaps?
But as I have had issues with the same problems I await a resolution.

I just remade my avatar in Paint.net to 80x80 and it worked. Is it the right file type?

The avatar function is admittedly a bit temperamental.
The picture needs to be square, up to 80x80 pixels, and less than 6kb in file size. Do try again, and if it doesn't work, upload your image as a post attachment and I'll modify and add it to your account.

Thanks for all the responses, and my apologies for putting this in the wrong place. My Techno skills suck. If it ain't made out of wood ... you have to plug it in ... or paint it ... I just don't get it.
I've managed to sort it out by reducing the avatar's size to 49 x 49 to get it below 6KB ... somehow. lol
I used this website if it helps anyone in the future:
http://bestrix.blogspot.com/2013/05/how-to-reduce-photo-size-less-than-20.html#200,195
I'd read somewhere the max file size was 10KB so I think that's where my problem was.
Many thanks again, and sorry for posting in the wrong section.
