The white clay is a mastic tube of decorators CAULK through a sealant gun.

Yeh its the CAULK put on with a paint scraper then rippled up with the arse end of a paint brush,painted brown first then the bluish green at this point and while still wet I dab toilet roll onto the water to lift some of the blue and give the varied colour effect .Then I lighter blue dry brush to finish and top off with gloss varnish .

Separate question, do you have any issues with warping of the MDF?

No minimal its 6mm MDF and has held really well,i use MDF 12mm/18mm for my 600mm game boards for that reason, there can be slight corner lifting but the tables at our club have ribbed raised edges so to combat this I glue 4mm squares in for all four corners and inadvertantley this cures warping as the bend in boards is now lost as the bottom of a bend or warp doesn't touch the table in the centre to push the corners up :-)

3. What mix of "stuff" do you use to put on the horse hair?

4. Can you bring all of these to the Lardy Games Day in Evesham next weekend and leave them somewhere so that I can nick them?

The seed pods from silver birch trees and then a dyed them two colours then added a blend of different turfs (ie scenic express)

Ps The JTT stuff is from US and they do all sorts of great bits , pumpkins , cotton, corn, all great kit m8.

Thanks, always found it hard to cover the horsehair with sufficient woodglue without looking soaked with glue. But will try some more as the results look great!
