Latest project, a bunch of Mythos-inspired eldritch horrors converted out of (mostly) Reaper figs with some extensive kitbashing and resculpts. Intended for use as a "Dark Summons" ritual of the kind our brave investigators inevitably wind up having to disrupt at the climax of an adventure. Or die trying, of course. Death is always an option in Call of Cthulhu, and often not the worst one. :)

Wow! love em!

Nice conversions and brushwork!!! :-*

Very nice. Those purple worms are very versatile!

Sure are, aren't they? Nice and cheap too, so kitbashing with them doesn't force me to charge a fortune when I'm doing stuff for ebay.
-
Very nice, particularly like the worms colour scheme. Is the central cultist (the one with the tentacles) a Reaper mini (I'm assuming you added the tentacles)?

Thanks. The oddball figure is actually converted off of an old Dreamblade "Jack of Blades" figure with the original hand blades removed and replaced with some tentacles from a Reaper Bones "Desert Thing" mini. A nice model, albeit very tall in 28mm scale. Lot of good repaint and conversion potential in the Dreamblade range, although they are a royal pain to remove from their integral gaming bases and the line's been OOP long enough now that secondary market prices are starting to get very, very silly.

New Eye of Gulvoth, since I had some requests to make more of these things:

Biggest one to date, almost 5" tall.

REALLY love your summoning circle !

Thanks! Been having a lot of fun with that particular piece and finding different things to stick in it, eg:

Inspiring stuff!

That picture second from the bottom really reminds me of when the Bhaalspawn in Baldurs gate 2 Shadows of Amn (computer game), changes into it's avatar form. Cool.

Amazing Summoning circles :-*

Behold the Sixth Eye of Gulvoth!
Probably not the last one I'll do, since one of its titles is Gulvoth of the Thousand Eyes. :)
Also yet another summoning circle, this one with more of a necromantic ritual feel.

The blight of my dark master continues to spread throughout the cosmos. Behold, the Seventh, Eight, Ninth, and Tenth Eyes of Gulvoth!

Only nine hundred and eighty-eight to go. :?

Sorry, I must have missed this thread before!! :-* :-* :-* :-*
Great gribblies! Love the cultists.

Those are inspired! First rate stuff!
May I ask where you get your bases from? They seem to be 60-70mm or more in diameter and I have not seen round lipped bases for general sale over 50mm. I would like to get some larger ones.

They're 60mm Reaper bases, and they sell them (and many other varieties) over here:
https://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/Bases/sku-down
They were available for very reasonable prices (about 3 cents each) in bulk (250-1000+ at once) but they seem to have removed that option in favor of the much more expensive (about 50 cents each) 10-base lots, which is going to get them an email from me asking what's up with that. Between that and the disappearance of everything in the Boneyard parts catalog they're starting to remind me of GW a bit.

I want to look away but I can't! Really great work, supergross too.

Oh yeah, I forgot to update this thread when I did the latest. Lucky Thirteen we've seen already, but the little guy on the left here is technically Number Fourteen.
Isn't he just adorable?
Think he's a GW Chaos Spawn bit, although I'm not positive. My bits box isn't very well sorted.
As you can see, I'm still finding different things to shove into that Reaper summoning circle. Such a versatile piece.
Like this guy, for ex.
Not technically an Eye of Gulvoth, just an average native of the Plane of Purple Flame, no doubt consulting with the cultist fellow there about transdimensional income tax law.

I like all of the creatures but really like this one 8)

Thanks. He's got a "violet eye to die for" right? :)

Two more additions to this project. Eye Number Fifteen is pretty standard, shown here with a couple more Cultists of the Eye>

Number Sixteen is a much more elaborate kitbash, incorporating parts from five stock models and a bunch of putty. By far the largest one in the series to date.

POV shot from the height of a 28mm human facing off with the model. Here's looking at you, kid.

"Eye Number Fifteen is pretty standard" lol no it's definitely not! Really nice uses for the
kit parts and great putty work across the set, I'd be chuffed to bits if I'd put these together
top job 8)

Well, I confess I may be getting a little blasé about these things after doing so many of them. You can get used to anything eventually, even eldritch horrors from the dark heart of the world. :)
