Ooh that looks nice.
I hope you guys had a good time.
-
Hell yeah, great photos.
-
Oh yes --- we had a great time :-)
-
I love your pics.
Just super.
I played my first game of Bolt Action. Liked it a lot.
Also played first game of Chain of Command.
Really did not care for it.
Can't buy in to the "Big man" idea.
But each to his own.
-
Fantastic stuff!
-
Do I spy asphalt shingles as roads? ;) They look great, as does everything else. :)
-
WOW.
That is exactly the game of games I have been slowly building towards.
I've still got a ways to go, but your pictures have given me some much needed inspiration.

Great looking game, well done folks! :)

Interesting opinions which I'd like to hear more about and discuss... although it would have to be on its own thread obviously. :)

Beautiful, and Crescent Root continues to impress - love their buildings!

Brilliant job Daniel :-*

Thanks! I've got a small fortune in terrain. Dan got all the minis done and I have all the terrain. I was curious just how much table I could cover with my Crescent Root buildings.
Yes, black tar shingles for paved roads ... used them in the 80's with my Dad and they still work in 2016 :-)

I only wish they did a 20mm range!
Fantastic looking table and minis, would love to see some more games :)

I've got a 4x8 tables worth of Crescent Root Mid-east buildings that are due to be shipped on 6/15. After seeing these pictures of the European buildings, I'm even more excited.
I've currently got the Plast Craft EWAR colored buildings for my European based games, but I may have to be adding some Cresent Root.

I love how they look, the problem I have run into is that it's hard to get a hold of less than a huge amount of them. I've tried asking for samples, but all the big stores by me do not do samples.

You said in your blog that you where thinking of ideas to make the town more modern. Add a petrol station, a few modern cars and bikes scattered about along with a few modern trash cans.
A few road signs, street lamps, maybe an old pay telephone and some news paper or cigarette dispersers near the bus stop. Add a bus stop.
For buildings add a bakery, Apothecary, and a bar or café might not be too far off. This should actually be easier then you think. Just add a sign to a building that looks like it would fit the bill.
For the Café or bar just add some out door tables and chars with umbrellas in them. Finally suggestion or idea. :D

Yeah, the pack we used had 36 shingles ... but it also only cost $25 :-)

All great suggestions --- and things I'll be looking to add. I've started ordering various bits and scatter terrain to add. I've found it really hard to find 1:50th scale civilian cars ...

Excellent, I love the Crescent Root buildings. I have a 4' x 4' setup for my middle east stuff ... but have enough to do 4x6 ... just need to finish my larger basecloth:

I have been lucky at finding decent Dye Cast cars at the CVS and Walgreens for about 1-5 dollars a peace. Also at the local Vons and Albertsons. That is where I picked up most of my modern civ cars. They are not all Exactly 1/50 but, they are close enough for government work.

Yeah those are the KinSmart ones I believe, they work well.

I had a chance to play in a WWII game last weekend.
The buildings used in the game were Crescent Root.
They were very nice.
Made the table look great.
