Those are gorgeous, and I WANT them !
-
Finally!
Took a lot longer than the 3-4 weeks they told us when the first ones were released, maybe they didn't sell as well as expected?
-
Nice, but why are the blankets all the same design.

Trade blankets? Probably given to them by the British.. ::)
-
Glad to see more releases for this range, and the lack of shields will make these alot easier to assemble. A little bit disappointed however to see that most of these figures are the same as the first sets of figures except they have blankets added.
-
As soon as they release some Xhosa leaders I'll be jumping in to this period. The first book they released is really good, the second volume promises to be even better with a detailed look at tactics. I reckon it's ideal for Sharp Practice size skirmishes.

That is my idea too! It can be very interesting at the "Sharp Practice 2" level.

Hi Juan
I've been chatting to Mike Snook who is writing the books to go with the range and he's using Sharp Practice for his games. He's keen to help us get some army lists produced and to introduce the Perrys to the rules. It'll be very exciting to get to work on that, so I'll keep you posted.

Great news!
I am reading his first book about this conflict, and thinking about the army lists too.

Love the stretcher party.
Very nice.
-
The British are lovely, I am just waiting for some Xhosa leaders before I buy. Can't wait to throw my cash at the Perrys and get cracking with this period for Sharp Practice.
Rich

This is all getting to tempting by far.
Richard you are not helping :)
-
The stretcher party is amazing! Can't wait for that one!
Looking forward to those lists Rich! I'll continue painting Xhosa in the meantime ;)

We have a few more new releases for the Cape Frontier Wars and WW2. There has been a bit of a backlog of codes at the mould making end of things but they are starting to come through now. There are three more packs of British infantry wearing shell jackets and forage caps which could also be used for fighting the Afghans, Chinese, Sikhs and Maoris in the 1840's or as the British Auxiliary Legion in Spain.
For the Cape Wars there's a Cape wagon and Xhosa command made and in the queue and of course the second volume of the book that should be in on Wednesday.
CAPE FRONTIER WAR BRITISH
CFB 9 Infantry marching, shell jackets and forage caps
CFB 10 Infantry advancing at trail, shell jackets and forage caps
CFB 11 Infantry Command wearing shell jackets and forage caps

could also be used for fighting the Afghans
That's a good excuse to get some of those Perry Afghans ;)
-
Very nice figures! Now, enemies, please.
-
I'm no expert so perhaps some of you may know, but isn't the head dress wrong for the Sikh Wars. I only ask because in the "blurb" it says they can be used against the Sikhs.
If Im wrong then I'm going to have to get some for my Sikh War collection ( oh the hardship).
-
Hi Jeff, checked my British in India 1826-59 by John French,he shows uncovered forage caps for First Afghan war and covered forage caps with peaks for the Sikh wars, hope this helps.
Cheers
Keith :)

Boers are next in line :
Also Michael has been adding to the Cape Warriors range with Boers, there are two codes pictured. There's another dismounted code finished as well as two mounted codes and one of women and children. All of these aren't out yet but should be in production in a few weeks. Michael has also made a Cape Wagon which can be used for settlers or the British army which will make an appearance about the same time.

Oh I hate crouching and prone poses but these look really good!
-
Looks like I picked a bad time to read Mike Snook's book on the Cape Wars .... with illustrations by the Perrys .... and then find this thread.
Bum.
-
Wow, love the wagon and Boers.
I must not buy more figures. :-[
But in the end I know I will. lol
-
Excellent poses....after all these years, the Perrys still get better....
-
Definitely getting me some of these, could do with some Xhosa command though,
-
could do with some Xhosa command though,
According to a recent Perry post on their FB page, they're currently in the casting queue.
-
Never spent a penny on perry miniatures (it would be a very slippery slope if I did) only got the sas jeeps set as a Christmas gift. But those boers look great. I will definitely be picking up these! And the some AWI and then some more WW2..... slippery slope!
-
More figures available Xhosa command and boers
-
Liking them Boers, especially the greens for the command and skirmishers on the FB page.
Prefer working with plastic rather than metal but this is starting to look like a very intersting little range. Had already bought a couple of packs just to see what they where like and have just placed an order for the two new releases as well. Very interested to see what they produce next.

Boers look great!
And finally some Xhosa command!
