Hello Guys,
I was looking for a pulp plane and came across the good ol' 'Tante Ju' (the Junkers Ju 52/3m) in the 1/48 scale.
Although, the overall size of the model seems pretty huge to me (lenght 40 cms/15.75", wingspan 61 cms/24"), I assume she fits quite well with the rather big miniatures from Artizan (she is supposed to become Captain Haggan's 'Sweetheart' ).
I'm planning on an early/mid thirties setting (more an Indiana Jones' one rather than a 'classic' pulp setting, at least timewise), do you experts think she fits in are would an American plane be more appropriated? :?

I think the Tante Ju and the Dakota are classic pulp planes! 1/48 should be OK. All the Copplestone pilots are made for 1/48 scale aircraft.

A Ju52 by Revell would certainly be easier to aquire than a Fokker F7 or a Ford AT-5 Trimotor! Actually, the only Trimotor I know of is an ancient Monogram kit in 1:72nd scale including a dogsled and some polar explorers (curiously, though, I seem to recall that Adm. Byrd used a Fokker rather than a Trimotor).
Scale is okay, too. Suitably imposing, and you can chase the evil/good guy (delete as applicable) beneath the wings, with the villain stumbling into the running prop... :D
Otherwise, a DeHavilland Dragonfly would be fine, but as said, 1930s´ civvie planes are notoriously hard to come by in 1:48.

Damn, there is a civilian Ju52m? I haven#t found one so I bought the military version from Revell.

@ Poliorketes: Seems as if the civilian is OOP (at least the shown one with the olympic's ad), I'm not sure but I reckon to remember a 'Swiss Airways' version also. Hm, those olympic games transfers would make a nice ad-billboard...
