Title: [Kickstarter] Azure Dragon Dropship - Antenocitis Workshop
Post by: Ginger on July 12, 2016, 11:37:45 AM
Hi Guys

So I've not been around much recently But I thought that you should know about this If you have not seen it already.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2097161002/azure-dragon-and-infinity-decals

I had the pleasure of painting the model in the Video and it is an absolute beast of a model.

Good look to them with this one.

I see a brilliant opportunity for the Clone Wars gamers with this.

Steep, but lovely.  8)

I might just go for those decals though.

Otherwise I know I'd be printing some myself, and the quality of digital UV printing, combined with them being pre-cut does all the talking then...   ;)

+++EDIT+++ And I agree; that thing just screams LAAT...

Nice ship, but yeah, way too expensive for my tastes.

Not that impressed by the "pay more get it earlier" approach that they've taken. However, given that the least popular month seems to be December, looks like it won't be a big Christmas gift this year ;D

Agreed...even without modifications it'd be ideal for a small shuttle in the same era/background.

PS: And yes, crazy expensive.

Neither am I but if he can only pump out 20 a month, why not monetize production priority?  Paying more (or less) to know where you're at on the list has a certain appeal over a random assignment or a "first come first served" approach.

What I'm not impressed with is the fact that the decals are extra.  Seriously?

However, given that the least popular month seems to be December, looks like it won't be a big Christmas gift this year ;D

That is interesting that the pledges filled out from outside in.  I guess people want it fast or cheap(ish), but not in between! lol

Expensive.  Not crazy-expensive.  Not for clone wars.  I've seen a 28mm scale LAAT/i for $400 AUD but it was probably more intended as a display model, not a gaming piece.  Doesn't mean someone wouldn't do it.

I preferred the look of the grendal dropship design personally (or the chickenhawk) and don't particularly care if it has a transparent canopy or not.

Yep. People have been happily paying something like 80 euros for Forgeworld stuff for a while now and are expected to put out £75 for HALO drop ships that I don't think are that much larger than this and at least in the latter case lack the details too. Too steep for me for sure but that's about how much a reasonably large dropship model can be expected to cost these days I'm afraid. Us tight-fisted gits apparently have to get along with modding cheap toys o_o

Weirdly I ordered one of the Pelican drop ships yesterday. Having seen them in person they are big buggers and they are going to be coming with a full complement of unsc to go with them. Whilst £75 is a lot in this case I honestly think the price is right.

And... pledged for a range of decals.

As the saying goes around here: 'why do it the hard way, when you can do it the easy way?' :D

Same here. I would love to have one of those dropships but I can't afford it right now. I hope that the Superhawk will be cheaper  :'(

Me too.  Wish it was the superhawk up first.  Of course anything Dwartist paints makes me want one! ;)
