I had no idea this was happening, just saw it on the Horizon Wars FB group:
It will start in a couple of hours from now (it's 15:40 - 4:40 PM here in Portugal, it should start at 18 - 6 PM if I did my time conversions right).

And it's live: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/272456130/talon-games-cav-strike-operations-ii

While I find CAV's designs to be hugely uninspired, I think some of the vehicles/skimmers could be handy. And as long as they're bones...that's good.

Oh my, my 1st thought exactly...
Rather wooden look. :(

If they all come out in Bones, they'll serve as a decent huge chop-shop for people looking for mech components/weapons. The CAV line has always been pretty sterile. lol

Hrm... that's how I feel about MechWarrior. I personally thought CAV mechs were more 'realistic'. Not all, mind you, but a chunk of them have a brute military utility to them.
Than again, my eldest son and I played CAV at GenCon 2000 when it first came out and had a good time, so I might be biased.

This, and also the designs in the basic package are particularly uninspired in my humble opinion. I guess they might have used the better designs in the first KS.... pity I was kind of planning to jump in on this one, but looking at what I would get I really don't think I will.

All they really need to make them look better is putting one leg forward in a walking pose. From there you can then chop and change the angles on the torsos and weapons to create a more realistic look.
Or even having the legs slightly splayed to make it look at rest properly. I'd love to get in on this as I enjoy my big robots but I have a bunch arriving soonish from the Heavy Gear KS I backed ages ago (funded Nov 23 2014)

Yeah I'm on that Heavy Gear KS too...almost forgot about it.

Shipping was a killer for me. $51 Canadian, just paid a couple of days ago.
