Title: Cheap 28mm heads?
Post by: Blofeld on 15 July 2016, 09:05:04 PM
I'm looking for the cheapest 28mm heads available to buy separate from any minis for a project, regardless of period as I'm going for a slightly mismatched look for some sci-fi minis and was interested in getting some super cheap base heads. I've already seen Perry's 36 heads for 7 quid and that seems like the cheapest so far but wondering if anyone had any other cheaper sources?
Thanks for any help

What kind of figures are you going to put these on?  28mm varies pretty widely to the point where some bits companies make heads in 2 or 3 sizes to accommodate different miniatures.

I'don't start at pig iron miniatures, then look at West wind. However as others say size can vary quite a bit.

I think it is a false economy to go with the cheapest heads you can find. The face is so important on a mini it affects the look and mood of the character. Check out the spare heads on the  Crooked Dice site. You can get any 5 head sprues (20 heads) for £7 on their deal , that's only 35p a head.....

Statuesque minis do "normal" and "heroic" heads - http://www.statuesqueminiatures.co.uk/p/8774376/sma301-heroic-scale-female-heads.html

10 for £4.75, so still pretty cheap

Murrmmerrrmuttterblloominnewtabletmuttermurmer - right, predictive text off!!! Why does any program on any device I ever use never predict the words I actually want to use and despite me telling it not to does anyway?!!  >:(

"I'd start" not "I'don't start".

Pig Iron, West Wind, Crooked Dice, Maxmini . . . .just hunt around. Finding the best match is tough because they all vary a bit. What sort of heads are you looking for and with what miniatures are you going to use them with?
