I've finally decided what I'm going to do for this years Army Painter and it's something easy :D
10mm Lord of the Rings using mainly Copplestone and other as and when.

Evil to the left and good to the right. The bag at the top is full of Easterlings. Not much at the moment but the idea is to finish these before I buy more...
cheers

Madness. Actually I saw these threads and thought about doing a 10mm army but couldn't find anything that whet my appetite, not being the wargaming butterfly that is Jimbibbly.
You'll have these done by next weekend then

lol
Yeah, right. ;)
I'll take these out of the failed project log then shall I?
-
You'll have something to put with that 10mm Gondorian farm you did.... erm... a while ago..
Weren't you going to do a scale version of Minas Tirith too? ;) ;D
Look forward to seeing what you do with these. :D

Do what you want ;D

Nice one - looking forward to see these - and the landscape which might emerge from this project :D
-
For 10mm that barely qualifies as an army !
Are the Easterlings the Tajima figures? It will be good to see them painted up, mine look remarkably like yours at the minute.

As do most of my dwarves. lol
Done anymore on this then yet?
-
Yes, smart arse ;D

Only coz I asked. ;D

James - I'm looking forward to seeing this one complete.
-
Forgot to ask what rule system are you planning to base these up for? Warmaster?

There will be more coming (as in I've just found my Men of Gondor and a whole load of other orcs) and they are the Tajima figures. Quite a few have an amount of flash on them and I'm not looking forward to cleaning them up.

Either that or the fantasy version of DBA.

This is only to embarass us mere mortals heh?
Anctious to see them painted. :)
-
Aren't we doing 10mm pirates after all then? Oh bugger...
;)
-
Does this mean you will create a 10mm Minas Tirith?
-
Thanks chaps :)
First 'unit' is complete and although it's not a lot, I'll have to do this project in small batches so it doesn't get left to one side like so many others ::)

More orcs next.
Does this mean you will create a 10mm Minas Tirith?
Possibly part of it :)

Rather good 8)

Looks great for 10mm. Good luck keeping the multiple projects running!

Great start, they look really good. Going to follow this with interest. :)

Excellent! 8)

They were fun to do (and quite easy, almost painting themselves).

They look great - check out the Kallistra stuff as well
If you are interested Jim I can field several Warmaster 10mm Armies - happy to give you a run out with your Orcs
If Nicks good we can invite him as well
-
Very nicely done, with excellent tuftage. 8) Looks very effective, even if it is the wrong scale ;)

I assume you have a miniature missing from a command group..... lol
-
Oh the ignominy, Bibbly has finished a unit and I am still awaiting paint drying to post an update.
-
Very nice. Copplestone is always a good choice.
-
Aces!!!
-
Really nice work!
-
Thanks chaps :)
Here's the next unit more than on track for next month but I'm not relishing painting all those trees :?

Or indeed the teensy tiny stars that go above the trees... :D
How about an ever so titchy stencil or stamp? I'm sure you could laser one... ;)

No stars lol
I did think about printing them out on paper and sticking them on (a cheap mans decal) because at this scale, enmasse I don't think it'll matter that much.
cheers
James

Sounds like a good idea.
Either that or you could make a stamp out of a potato :D
-
Looking awesome
-
All looking very good mate! :-* Keep up the great work!
-
Thanks chaps :)

Rotring with white/silver ink? I know guys who used to use them for black lining 'back in the day'. Whenever that was... ;)
Looking good though James. Nice to see the farmhouse again.
-
Thanks again gents :)
Ray, you can get really fine white fine-liners in Japan but I think given the size of the shields it might not look right. Printing on photo quality paper should do the trick. I can set up a jog on the laser to cut them out as well which will help immensely :D
cheers

!!!!!
Are these archival-non-yellowing in quality? Like are we talking Pigma Micron sort of thing? If so, me want so very bad! In fact any light colour opaque fineliners would be interesting to try.
The white fine-liners we can get around here are more like ballpoint pens and are therefore useless.
-
Don't know if they are non-yellowing mate but we're going again end of September so I'll keep an eye out an let you know :)
cheers
James
-
Many thanks... depending on how they are, I might well be happy to chuck you some money to buy and ship me a few.
-
Gonna miss this months deadline by about four/five days so should be showing them done at the weekend :)
cheers
James
