Finished the first six Xhosa today to test the skin tones as I have never painted African skin before, I have a load more coming next week and the books so plan to get a lot more done in the next couple of weeks,

They look good :-*

Love the skin tones on the Xhosa, what recipe did you use?

Nicked the recipe from cool mini or not website
Thanks for the comments, much appreciated

Lovely work Olyreed. The books are excellent value. Looking at the miniatures themselves they are some of the nicest sculpts I have ever seen for both sides. The castings are excellent. I hope to get some painting done on mine in the coming weeks.

Great job all round.
-
First unit of 12 Xhosa finished with leader, the reason for the reddish looking painting is that the warrior's would cover themselves in clay paint, hope it looks okay
-
Well, back to this project, thought I would kick it back off with some Boers, sculpts in general were good but with some miscasts on a couple of faces, cavalry versions up next, one of them looks like a piece of his hat is missing but I'm not sure if that is on purpose
-
Splendid :)
cheers
