I have been considering trying dragon rampant to get myself and a mate back into larger ish fantasy games. Most of our tabletop stuff has been solidly skirmish for the past years but we both have a much loved warhammer armies that could do with a round on the table again. However he has a dwarf army with a fair share of artillery he is rather fond of. As far as I can tell there are no rules for these sort of war machines in DR right?

No rules for cannons. Closest would be using them as Heavy Missiles.

These are the rules Dan came up with for Lion Rampant:
Artillery
Use 1 artillery model plus 6 crew (Your Leader can't be part of this unit).
May be operated so long as 1 crewman is still alive.
Points cost: 4 points (maximum of 1 artillery piece per Retinue).
Range: Anywhere within line of sight on the tabletop.
Shoot value: 7+.
Damage: Roll 12 dice against the target unit, hitting on 3+. Ignore cover.
Reload value: 10+. After a successful Shoot action, the artillery may not be fired again until a successful Reload action has taken place. This is carried out as a normal, ordered activation.
May not move during the game and must be deployed in the player’s deployment zone.
If contacted, shot at, and for Courage tests, the crew count as Serfs at their current strength (6 models or less).
The crew must maintain cohesion around the artillery model (not moving more than 3” beyond it).

Those could be fun rules there! I feel ya, I have a cannon that I got in by doing this:
Heavy Missles with enchanted weapon, reduced model unit, and the pavise rule from Lion Rampant.
-
Except for the pavise rule we did the same as Mr. Business.
-
Thanks guys that sounds pretty doable then!

Hi guys,Dragon Rampant rules already contain stats for you powder in the troop section Heavy Missiles,he suggests fielding cannon as a single model unit, top of page 20.
Hope this helps. :)
