I was wondering if anyone has come up with rules for "points battle" games of Frostgrave? Sometimes it's hard to start a campaign, but it would be nice to play the game with some additional gear without having to always start from scratch, since new players typically don't want to fight against veteran warbands. Back when I played Necromunda, I never had the opportunity to play a single gang long-term.
For example, maybe start with 2,000 gold or so. Perhaps some gold could be used to purchase wizard/captain levels, or perhaps the wizard starts off at a certain level. Maybe magic items can be purchased but perhaps there could be a limit to the number of them available. Maybe a wizard can have up to one rare item (like some of the Necromancy spells from TotLL).
Has anyone tried something like this?

I like the sound of this for variety if you just play a number of one off games. What about if each player had a certain number of treasure rolls to see what magic items they get and how much gc they have to spend on warband members so that it's like they are already a number of games into a campaign?

if you want to simulate a warband that's been through a few games already, you should include wizard levels. But you can't just let people dump them all into the same thing, so you should award them in groups of 2 or 3. You'll need a special rule for things like Reveal Secret.
