Title: Post Apoc style desert roads?
Post by: robh on 27 July 2016, 05:14:14 PM
Has anyone found a source of 28mm suitable semi ruined post apoc style roads?
Thinking of tarmac/paved roads with plenty of cracks, potholes and weed growth.

Looking for either a cheapish game mat I can cut up or better print your own images that I can make into 3d models. Only one I can find so far is the Skeleton Key Games Omega series pdf set but they have very prominent 1" grids.

World Works games makes 'Mayhem Streets of Legend' for printing. I use an older version, looks like they updated it. They're not really 'desert' but they may provide a starting point.

A nice tutorial for quick and easy roads building by DM Scotty (from theDMsCraft (https://www.youtube.com/user/theDMsCraft/videos) YouTube channnel):

Easy to Make ROAD WARS Terrain (DM's Craft #151)
Take it as a starting point. If you spend some more time on the roads sections, they might look really outstanding.

Thanks Doc, I had thought of WW but when I looked the site had gone, I assumed now that Denny et al have moved on the thing had died. Seems to be back up now but not sure about whether it is supported or not. May risk the $11 as their Apocalypse style would be an ideal basis.

@Voyager, cheers I have some roads done similar to that for 15mm but I am looking for a short cut for 28mm as my 2d painting skills are not really up to the detail effect I want.
