Title: God of Battles - The Big Game
Post by: Archie on 28 July 2016, 12:18:55 AM
So my son and I are building up to a giant game of God of Battles. For those of you who don't know this system it's the Wargames Foundry's fantasy large scale rules. Written by Jake Thornton. Only released a few years ago but sadly they haven't caught on and I've only met one person who actually uses the system other than myself and my son. A real shame as it's quick to play, easy to understand and allows for some fine strategies. You feel like you are playing the game not the rules when gaming with the set.

So we like them. And we are taking over the lounge for a week and are playing with all the fantasy painted figures that we have.

Pictures of those will follow but for now here is the wall that we have built ... worth mentioning we have had to homebrew rules for the walls as those aren't in the original rules.

I was a little disappointed in that, too. I have a few ideas why it happened, and most of them can be summed up in two words: the book. I could go on, but I don't think this is the time or place. :P

That's an impressive lump of a wall! I won't mind seeing what you do with it.

Hi Vermis,

Sounds like we need another thread to discuss what could have been great!

Thanks for the comment - the wall is also designed to come apart for ease of storage...we will be taking pictures of the game which is scheduled to start the week after next.

Finishing up some units, basing some bits and generally getting ready. Bad guys out-number the good by 2:1 but hey ... we have a wall to fight them back with!

Also added in rules for battering rams. We are debating having monstrous creatures being able to attack the walls. Currently, only war engines can at the moment.

Regards

Archie
